There are many ways to deal with an ADHD diagnosis. All are great and serve their purpose, however many research studies have found that the optimum way to achieve results faster is by hiring a trained ADD / ADHD Coach. I know this personally from both sides having ADHD myself and working with my own coach in addition to coaching various clients since 2005, and receiving my official certification in 2007 from The ADD Coaching Academy. I have specialized experience working with individuals who are: exploring their sexual orientation and gender identity; employed in creative industries: artists, actors, performers; coming to terms with late-discovered Autism and ADHD ; coping with chronic illness; seeking to incorporate art/creativity into healing.
My aim is to create a safe, validating, and supportive environment, in which we can explore your challenges, and figure out what makes life happy and meaningful to you. Together, we can work on recognizing and breaking out of patterns that no longer serve you, building new skills, and developing deeper, more meaningful relationships with others, as well as compassion and appreciation for yourself. My approach incorporates evidence-based therapy models including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

ADHD Counsellors
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a North York ADHD counsellor, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counselling in North York.
