On the outside, you look like you have it all together. You are the responsible one. The one everyone relies on. But on the inside, you feel exhausted. Perhaps your mind races at night or you feel constantly on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe you feel stuck between what others expect of you and what you actually want for yourself. You care deeply about your roots, but find it hard to set boundaries without feeling guilty. You spend so much energy worrying about others that there is nothing left for you. You are tired of just going through the motions. You want to feel calm, confident, and actually in control.

You’ve been holding it all together on the outside, but inside, it’s a different story. The anxiety never really quiets—it just shifts shape. Some days it’s racing thoughts and a tight chest; other days it’s feeling numb and disconnected. You keep wondering, “Why can’t I just feel okay?” You try to show up for everyone else, but end up feeling like you’re falling short. Underneath it all, there’s a quiet ache—grief you haven’t had space to process, self-doubt that whispers you’re not enough, and the weight of coping in ways that no longer serve you. I specialize in helping people work through anxiety, grief, and low self-worth.

As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist my goal is to help you gain insight to how your emotions influence your thought process. By helping you identify issues that are causing you conflict we then can work on formulating solutions. With this understanding we then can focus on changing maladaptive behaviours to more positive ones. The goal of CBT is to teach you strategies so that you can move forward in your life. CBT is effective with adults and children. We all have the ability to change things in our lives, we just need to take the first steps.

You're doing your best to be everything to everyone—a reliable friend, a loving partner, a high-achieving professional. But lately, it feels like you're running on empty. Deadlines pile up, expectations grow, and it’s hard to tell where one role ends and another begins. You're exhausted but can’t switch off, lying awake with a mind full of “what ifs” and worries. The pressure to hold it all together is starting to crack, and you’re wondering how much longer you can keep this up.

I am a Jungian Psychoanalyst offering Jungian Analysis to individuals who want a deeper understanding of themselves. For many reasons, these persons feel emotionally in pain, conflicted or unbalanced in their inner and/or outer life and would benefit from exploring the deep rooted causes of relationship problems and unproductive emotional patterns. The direction of therapy is to look to the past and to the unconscious determinants of behaviour but also to open to the creative and positive movements of the psyche that offer a way forward even in the face of the greatest difficulties or trauma.

Alcohol Use Counsellors
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
