Are you feeling alone, worried, or self-critical? Grieving a loss, healing from trauma, or searching for greater meaning and purpose? Maybe you're navigating a life transition, like becoming a parent. You may be touched out, sleep deprived, missing your former self, and wondering why something you wanted so much feels like nothing you expected. I offer a space where we can make sense of your experience and find a way forward. Although pain and uncertainty are part of life, we can change the way we relate to difficult thoughts and feelings so we can live with more self-compassion, flexibility, and clarity about what matters.

I draw on Emotion-Focused, Narrative, Mindfulness-Based, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic therapies.
Whether it's crept up on you slowly or brought you to a crisis point, a lot of what brings individuals & couples to therapy is the same: a pattern that keeps repeating, and a sense of being stuck in it. That's the heart of what I do — helping you understand the pattern, & then actually do something different with it.
I'm Kevin, a Registered Psychotherapist working with individuals & couples online across Ontario. My approach is warm but direct, and relational at its core: we look together at how these cycles took shape, how they once made sense, and at what it takes to create enough emotional safety to begin responding differently.

People don’t come to therapy because they’re broken. They come because the ways they’ve learned to survive are no longer working.
Anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and substance use often develop as ways of adapting to painful experiences. Together, we work to understand those patterns—not simply reduce symptoms—so that lasting change becomes possible.

Do you feel overwhelmed, behind on tasks, or frustrated with yourself for not being able to “get it together”? Maybe your mind jumps around, your to-do list never gets shorter, or your confidence has taken a hit after years of feeling disorganized or distracted. If this sounds familiar, you might be wondering whether ADHD could be part of the picture. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety, unfinished projects, and self-doubt, often believing these struggles mean they’re lazy, unmotivated, or failing somehow. They’re not. These patterns often reflect how your brain works, not a personal flaw.

You may be wondering why you, or you and your partner, seem to repeat certain patterns, or you might notice that you tend to distract yourself when certain emotions come up… and if you’re here browsing therapists, perhaps you’ve also realized how these coping mechanisms are catching up with you and/or impacting your relationship?
Therapy is a space to reflect on life’s circumstances, your choices, the ways you show up (for yourself/your partner), how they’ve shaped who you are, and how they may no longer serve you. Therapy can be a powerful shift from simply coping to living with greater awareness, purpose, and connection.

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
