It's hard to be human. Our mind ruminates about the past and frets about the future. Our society overwhelms us with choices, expectations, and seemingly endless demands on our time and energy. We pursue answers and achievements, only to be left with worry and sadness. We are disconnected from ourselves and from each other. If you're feeling lonely and uncertain, please know you are not alone and you are worthy of support. Although we cannot eliminate our suffering, we can change our relationship to painful thoughts and feelings to live more compassionately, flexibly, and skillfully.

Are you feeling a pull toward more clarity, more connection, more ease in how you move through your relationships and your life? Therapy can be a space to turn toward that pull with intention. Whether you’re exploring relational patterns, preparing for partnership, moving through a life transition, or making sense of loss, our work together invites a deeper understanding of yourself and the ways you connect with others. For couples, this is a place to strengthen communication, deepen intimacy, and build a shared foundation with care and awareness. Together we can slow things down and listen more closely to what’s unfolding.

In our increasingly digital world, it’s easy to feel disconnected from the real world and from people around us. Whether you are struggling with overwhelming emotions or seeking to understand your past and its impact on your present life, I’m here to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for your journey toward healing. I help individuals navigate the challenges of depression, anxiety, trauma and emotional distress. For many, these struggles can lead to feelings of low self-esteem, behavioral patterns that no longer serve them, or even substance use as a means of coping.

Many individuals and couples come to therapy feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns around intimacy, relationships, and sexual health. This can show up as shame, guilt, confusion, burnout, emotional exhaustion, or frustration, especially when these experiences have felt difficult to talk about or held in silence for a long time. Sexual health is deeply connected to emotional, relational, and psychological well-being. Over time, emotional and relational patterns form through lived experiences, shaping how we respond to ourselves and others in ways that are not always easy to see at first.

Life is full of demands and responsibilities that can feel overwhelming. Emotions and self-defeating thoughts can interfere with you feeling and performing at your best. You want something to change but untangling these patterns seems too difficult. When you learn to harness your emotions and thoughts they can begin to work with you and not against you, allowing you to take ownership of your life. I believe this resilience is a skill we all have the capacity to acquire. My goal is to make mental health therapy practical and effective, so you can live a happier and more productive life.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
