You might be feeling stuck—caught in the same arguments, shutting down in your relationships, or carrying emotions you’re not sure how to express. Maybe part of you wants things to change, but another part isn’t sure how, or whether it’s even possible. If you’re feeling disconnected—from your partner, from others, or even from yourself—you’re not alone. These patterns often develop for a reason, especially when relationships haven’t felt safe or secure in the past. But they can also begin to feel exhausting and hard to break.

Many people come to therapy feeling like they’ve been talking about the same problems for years without anything really changing. If therapy has ever felt like going in circles, my approach might feel different. I take a practical and collaborative approach focused on creating real, sustainable change. Our work together isn’t about endless processing or clinical jargon. It’s about understanding the patterns that keep showing up in your life and building tools that actually help you move forward. If you’ve been thinking about therapy but aren’t sure where to start, reaching out for a consultation is a good first step.

Life has a way of inviting us into new chapters—sometimes by choice, sometimes through unexpected change. Whether you're navigating a career shift, relationship changes, parenthood, loss, personal growth, or simply finding yourself at a crossroads, these transitions can bring uncertainty, confusion, and challenges that leave you questioning who you are and where you're headed next. These moments often ask us to reconsider our relationships—not only with the people around us, but also with ourselves.

Hi there, and welcome! I’m Julia, and I specialize in helping women who want to reinvent themselves and start their next chapter. Many of the women I work with have spent years building careers, relationships, or lives that looked right on paper, only to realize that it isn't the right life for them. I also work with women who are struggling in their romantic relationships, which can look like resentment, uncertainty, or being stuck in painful dynamics. You may be rebuilding after a divorce or break up, letting go of an old identity, wanting more from your life, or ready to discover who you are and how you want to live.

Have you ever felt like you do not belong, that you are gravely misunderstood? What about striving for perfection in all aspects of your life? Or constantly feeling like a stranger in your own body? Does any of this sound familiar to you? I can assure you that you are not alone in these struggles. We might try to put on a brave face for the world; however, cracks begin forming in our façade, and self-doubt creeps in and eats away at our sense of self. I am here to normalize these feelings and empower you to become the best version of yourself, whatever that might look like. You are allowed to take up space in your own healing.

I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, stress, self-esteem challenges, and mental health struggles.
You may feel the weight of anxiety and self-doubt, overwhelming both your mind and body. It's not just the constant worrying, but the physical toll it takes—the tightness in your chest, your heart racing, sleepless nights, and a lingering exhaustion that doesn’t seem to go away. You might find yourself caught in a cycle of questioning whether you're good enough or capable, and it becomes harder to manage the pressure to perform. On the outside, you try to keep up, but internally, something doesn’t feel right. It’s as if you’re simply going through the motions without fully engaging in life.

Anxiety doesn't have to run your life. You feel constantly on edge, with racing thoughts, tension in your body, or maybe worrying that you are stuck like this. Social situations or health anxiety can feel overwhelming, and panic attacks might catch you off guard. Deep down, you want to feel calmer, more confident, and more at home in your own body. I work in-person in Huntsville, ON and virtually with women in Ontario who are ready to find relief, build coping skills, and reconnect with themselves, all through supportive, therapy. Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
