I specialize in healing relational and trauma wounds with Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic & trauma-informed Somatic/EFT/EMDR/IFS therapy, for immigrants, professionals, LGBTQ+, ADHDers, CPTSD/NPD/sexual abuse survivors, and adoption parents.
Many clients come feeling like they or their relationships “should be fine”, but deep down they feel confused, disconnected, overwhelmed, or burdened, just not knowing why. Unprocessed past experiences can be stored in our body, causing anxiety, depression, self esteem issue, tougher life transitions, or disturbed relationships. In our sessions, no matter if you come as an individual, a couple, or a family, we'll gently reconnect the parts that have been shut down by stress, anger, fear, shame, or grief, make sense of everything that's important to you, help you to express yourself freely, and rediscover your authentic self.

Life is hard, and the challenges we meet in our relationships, work, and daily tasks can create tremendous stress and uncertainty. I provide a warm and comfortable environment where you and I can work as a team to unpack issues troubling you – I am non-judgmental, have a good sense of humour, and I thrive in supporting people through challenging times. As a mature woman, I have faced my own issues with anxiety, relationship stress, and parenting difficulties, and through my personal and professional experiences I have come to understand how powerful the psychotherapy process is at fostering self-awareness and emotional resilience.

You made it home, but part of you is still on alert. You clock every exit, sleep in broken pieces, and go numb just to get through the day. Then you snap at the people you love over nothing and hate yourself for it. Underneath are the parts that don't fit the story everyone expects: the guilt over what happened or what you couldn't stop, the shame you can't say out loud, and the quiet question of who you are now that the uniform is off. None of this means you're broken. It means you carried things most people never will, and it's still with you.

Accepting New Clients:
I know reaching out can be a big step, and I’m honoured you’re considering sharing part of your journey with me.
My choice to become a therapist grew from the recognition that everyone, including myself, carries invisible weights. Working with adolescents, university students, and adults has shown me that stress may look different yet feel equally heavy, whether it stems from school pressures, career uncertainty, or shifting family roles. Combined with my own experience navigating cultural and generational expectations, these lessons have deepened my respect for the courage it takes to reach out.

I always say - life has 3 guarantees: constant work, pain and change/uncertainty. We are all going to experience these things at one point or another, and when it's present, it's not uncommon to feel disconnected and overwhelmed. I'm here to help you rediscover your way back to balance and well-being. My philosophy is simple: many of our struggles, whether they're related to trauma, relationships, life transitions, family conflicts, or anxiety, can often be traced back to disconnection - from yourself and from others.

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
