We are in unprecedented times. As humans, we need to have some predictability about our life and the world we live in, in order to feel safe and secure and that is no longer available to us. This activates our nervous system which can then lead to us feeling anxious, withdrawn, numb, edgy, untethered, angry or dissociated. Many people are struggling with having personal space and privacy if isolating with others or with lack of connection due to isolating alone. It's important to get the support you need right now. Psychotherapy can be that predictable support until the world finds its new normal.

Do you feel like you've gotten too far away from who you really are, or who you want to be? Are you overwhelmed by grief, sadness, or worry that you feel isolated and alone? Perhaps these feelings lead to intensive anxiety, depression, communication problems in relationships, or difficulty coping with daily life. May be you're tired of people telling you to "get over it" because you're not sure that's even possible. Talking with someone who understands what you've been through is invaluable. Together, you will gain the clarity, confidence, and courage you need to change your life.

I guide people through powerful life transitions and support them through the process of self-discovery and rebirth. Self-awareness is essential to overcoming life's obstacles. But there's often a catch isn't there. The story you tell yourself, it seems to have an agenda of its own. (I'm not good enough, someone's always achieving more than me. Why do I have to do all the work?) So how do you move beyond your current thinking? What has actually happened to warrant your thinking? What's been the core pattern in your relationships till now, and what happens when you challenge that pattern? Pause.... and sit with these questions.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support is such a wonderful step in ensuring your wellness. Navigating our emotional health can be hard. Thank you for trusting me with yours. During our work together, we will explore how we are shaped by our early experiences and how our emotions guide us to better understand ourselves. We won’t be learning quick strategies to coping, conflict resolution or emotion management, but instead we will slow down and work to uncover the underlying patterns that drive our perceptions of the world, our relationships with others, and our relationship with ourselves.

Throughout our lives we naturally experience ups and downs. These fluctuations in mood may also bring about challenging thoughts and feelings that we hold onto, unsure of how to let them go. I believe that collaboratively working with individuals to explore these thoughts and feelings in a safe, trusting, and non-judgemental environment can help them get where they want to go. In encompassing a person-centered approach to therapy, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to help guide and support you on your journey of self-discovery and self-exploration.

I believe every individual has the strength and resilience to cope with difficult situations. However, in times of difficulty, they need someone’s guidance to remind them who they are and what they are capable of. I am passionate about holistic wellness. The mind, body, and spirit, as well as mental well-being should be treated with grave importance. We continually make important decisions that will shape the way we live our lives; this pressure can take an enormous toll on our mental well-being. We can display that by stressing out or by developing unhealthy coping mechanisms. This is can be difficult to navigate.

***ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: IN-PERSON & PHONE/VIDEO*** We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We have helped individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. We do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

They say our greatest weakness lies in giving up! We have all been there. I decided that if life was going to be difficult, I would become its greatest “warrior” and teach others to do the same. Too often we use our armour to hide our inner selves, rather than see it as our strength which only comes from taking a risk, facing our fears, taking a step forward, and learning that every battle is won with wisdom. I am here to empower you to take that chance on yourself — your mind is a powerful force, but you are its master!

Welcome! Let me start out by telling you what I tell all my potential clients: Therapy is such an individual process and so much of it has to do with finding the right therapist. Many of us have similar training and areas of expertise but we all differ in personality. I want to use this space here to give you an idea of my vibe and approach. I’m a little quirky with a gentle approach and strong ability to challenge you and explore with you. I can sit with you in heavy spaces, difficult feelings, and complex thoughts.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
