New April 2026 - Are you between 25-35 years old and find yourself grappling with the past, were raised by emotionally immature (or narcissistic) parents, struggle with setting boundaries, are in a codependent relationship, or feel responsible for the emotions of others while neglecting your own? Is your body constantly in fight, flight or freeze mode, and you can't seem to break the unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck? It's infuriating to intellectually know what to do and not be able to DO it (or stick to it)

I work with a wide range of people, approaching each person with curiosity, attentiveness, and care through a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens.
My work is grounded in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), inner child work, and somatic practices. These approaches support healing through relationship, compassionate work with protective parts, reconnection with younger parts, and awareness of how emotion is held in the body.

Are you a woman in your 20's or 30's with ADHD, anxiety and/or depression? Do you have a hard time saying no, regulating big emotions, or saying what you mean? You're exhausted from putting on a mask and faking it just to get through each day, only to collapse into doom scrolling until you fall asleep at night. You have a hard time making decisions, and feel like your body is stuck in fight-or-flight. You've tried all the things - exercise, meditation, affirmations, daily planners - but nothing seems to help. It's starting to impact your most important relationships - be it romantically, with family, friends, school or work

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

Ending up in the same relationship patterns, no matter how hard you try to change? Overthinking everything, or feeling like you’re never enough? I work with men and couples who feel stuck in these cycles and don’t know how to get out. Therapy helps you understand what’s actually driving it so you can stop going in circles and start showing up differently.

I believe there is good in everyone. I also trust in the power of unconditional positive regard and I aim to provide you with a safe, judgement-free place to explore who you are and who you want to be. Our past and present can affect us deeply, but we can also draw on them to improve our future. My approach is eclectic, integrative, and collaborative, and I view things holistically, incorporating your strengths and values into therapy. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and you do not need to be “fixed;” I am here to walk with you on your healing journey, and to shape therapy into whatever you need it to be.

Life can be challenging. At times, it can feel overwhelming, messy and unpredictable. We might find ourselves feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of how to navigate the situations life throws our way – whether it’s relationships, stress, self-doubt or major life transitions. While it’s easy to get caught up in feeling like we should have it all figured out, the reality is – being human is hard sometimes.

If you are are going through a tough time or difficult life circumstance and can’t find the right person to talk to - someone with “Lived Experience” in mental health, addiction and trauma could make a world of difference. I discovered the power of Peer Support having lived through some of those not-so-nice experiences myself. It was a healing like no other: It saved my life and put me on a path towards growth & self-discovery. I spent 10+ years participating in peer groups, various therapy modalities, and pursued ongoing education in the field. I combine these experiences to deliver a unique type of therapy and valuable resources.

There was a time in my own life when I realized how deeply people long not just to be heard but to be truly seen. That realization changed the way I listen, the way I show up, and the way I walk alongside those in pain. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with over 16 years of experience helping individuals and couples heal from trauma, reconnect in relationships, and rediscover their God-given worth. Whether you’re carrying wounds from the past, feeling stuck in cycles you don’t know how to break, or longing to repair a strained connection, my role is to walk with you, not ahead of you. “Once in a while, everyone needs a helping hand”

NEW April 2026: You're a deep feeler, an empath, somebody who has been told they're "too sensitive" and should "just relax" your entire life. You absorb other people's emotions, but feel totally alone and confused about your own. Your brain jumps from hyperfocus to worry while you feel deeply lonely inside. You long for connection, but feel exhausted by people. Your relationship with your parents (often mom) is complex, feeling like a wound that never heals. You hide it well most of the time, and when people ask what's wrong you say "nothing", because you know they won't understand and you'll just end up feeling even worse.

Attachment-based Counsellors
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
