Reaching out for therapy is hard but if you are here, you are likely stuck in a cycle that you just cannot seem to shake. Are you being held back by depression, anxiety, trauma, stress or ADHD? Does it feel like your relationship is in crisis? I can help. I work with people who feel like they are hitting a wall and are ready to turn things around. You do not need to know why you are experiencing what you are or how to change it, you just need to reach out for help. I help people learn more about themselves, their circumstances, their goals and support them in finding ways to transform their challenges into strengths.

I am passionate about supporting adults who struggle with substance use disorders and other addiction, ADHD, and personality disorders (such as Borderline Personality Disorder).
Many of us have become masters in pretending that things are fine, when in reality our lives seem to be falling apart. Inside we feel like we’re drowning: overwhelmed by emotion, lost, & hopeless as we try to carry the burden of unresolved trauma, pain, & life’s curveballs hurled our way. Pushing aside these problems to get through each day to manage life’s responsibilities, we find ourselves numb, depressed, anxious, self-medicating, isolating, angry, & struggling with relationships. Together, we can work towards confronting unhealthy behaviours, understanding emotions, & healing from past trauma to create transformational change.

My specialty is supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, OCD, and Depression.
Hello! My name is Krystle, and I appreciate you stopping by :). In therapy, we often explore life experiences, how they shape us, and guide our journey. Sometimes, we encounter stressors, uncertainty about the future, or feel lost in our thoughts. At other times, our journey leads to self-discovery and new approaches, perhaps by embracing the uncertainty of tomorrow. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, overwhelming thoughts or emotions, help with school or work, or daily life pressures, feeling connected and understood is what most of us seek.

I offer support for individuals with a wide range of needs however; I provide focused supports for women dealing with Perimenopause, Menopause, PMS and PMDD, ADHD, trauma, as well as Functional Neurological Disorder.
The majority of my clients are struggling with a unique cluster of symptoms that impact their ability to live life on their terms. Most are unaware of the ways our hormones, trauma and ADHD intersect, and too often we are poorly supported. In order for symptoms to shift, we need to address the many ways symptoms arise, and finding cohesive care can be challenging.

As an ADHD therapist, I provide a safe space for you to look at your struggles from a kinder perspective.
If overwhelm, procrastination, anxiety, poor time management, trouble with focus, and low self-esteem are standard parts of your everyday life, you’ve likely wondered whether you have ADHD. If you haven’t gotten an official diagnosis, perhaps you’ve even accepted these as personality “flaws.” As someone who was diagnosed late in life, I can assure you that you’re not lazy, incapable, or any other hurtful adjective you’ve secretly called yourself. You just haven’t had the support to understand how your brain works.

I have specialties in helping children and teens to manage difficult emotions, ADHD, and anxiety.
With a high interest in child mental health, I have dedicated my practice to helping children and teens develop the skills and connections they need to flourish. My practice is built on two major beliefs: (1) that children do well when they can (or have the skills to) and (2) that children blossom when they have strong connections with their caregiver(s). Through this lens, common issues such as those related to ADHD, autism, anxiety/panic, school, peer relationships, identity-exploration, behaviour, emotional-regulation, grief, and self-esteem can be overcome by fostering the necessary skills and parent-child connections to thrive.

Are you different? So am I. I specialize in working with people who break the mold. This includes neuro-diverse adults ( ADHD, Autistic, C-PTSD), chronically ill, 2SLGBTQ, and racialized people. Focusing on resiliency and emotional intelligence, I use evidence-based practices and creative interventions to use the wounds of the past as seeds for growth. Adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and relationship fractures disrupt our feelings of safety and trust. In order to thrive, we need to heal.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
