Sometimes the challenges life brings can seem intolerable, leaving you feeling stuck, unable to cope and with a sense that things are falling apart. Perhaps you're seeking greater fulfillment & tired of feeling alone, misunderstood and that no one else could possibly understand you. Hi, my name is Amun (she/her), and I’d be happy to support you whether it be to regulate intense emotions, gain clarity or find balance. My hope is through curiosity, we can arrive at a greater understanding of how you arrived here and gently learn to meet yourself with compassion.

Engaging in psychotherapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about reconnecting with what matters. I work with high-functioning individuals who have built successful lives, yet quietly struggle with disconnection, meaninglessness, or emotional distance. My approach blends clinical psychology and cognitive science with a deep respect for the relational and the sacred. This is not performance coaching or symptom management. It’s an invitation into honest contact—with yourself, with others, and with what you’ve left behind in the pursuit of getting everything else right.

My areas of therapeutic interest involve Trauma-Informed and Attachment-Focused psychotherapy. I am available to work with teens (16+), and adults who are managing grief and loss, anxiety, stress, depression, and life transitions. I achieved an undergraduate degree in History and Literature and work well with "creatives" who find themselves leaning into a greater awareness of themselves and are reflecting on their lives, searching for meaning and ways of naming where they are now. I am conscious of holding space for folks as they process and unpack their experiences, incorporating a stance of curiosity and non-judgment.

Ever wonder, “Is this it? Is this really my life?” From the outside, things might seem fine. But inside, you feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected. Slowly losing yourself in a relationship, a life, or a version of yourself you barely recognize. Putting everyone else’s needs above your own. Maybe you're navigating past trauma or a painful & confusing relationship. When a relationship causes more pain than peace, it can make you question your reality, your worth & your ability to trust yourself. As a social worker with over 15 years of experience & my own experience with trauma, I understand how overwhelming it can feel.

Are you successful on paper but quietly questioning whether this is the life you actually want? You show up. You perform. You carry responsibility well. Yet something feels misaligned. You overthink conversations. You struggle to rest. You feel pressure to hold everything together. From the outside, your life looks stable. Inside, you feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure who you are beneath the roles you play. You may be navigating a demanding career, tension in your relationship, conflict within your family, or a major life transition. You have achieved. Now you want alignment.

The most impactful patterns are the ones we can’t see. The ones that have been normalised since childhood. They are in the way we love & fight, the partners we choose, the friendships we uphold and the boundaries we find difficult to set. Some of us don’t even see these patterns in our lifetime. We do not notice because it has been our normal for so long. Trauma often goes unidentified because it is disguised as family traditions, cultural expectations or love languages. If you’re struggling, I hear you. It’s tough, and therapy isn’t about pretending it’s not. Healing & breaking cycles would require us to first see these patterns.

Divorce Counsellors
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
