I believe in the power of connection and I view healing as relational. My approach emphasizes community, creativity, and play, fostering curiosity and openness, while my client-led stance adapts to each person’s unique needs. When working with children, I regularly collaborate with parents to strengthen relationships; I also support neurodiverse children, including those on the autism spectrum. As a trained art therapist, I often use art and play to create a safe space for verbal and nonverbal expression. No art experience is needed—art is always optional, and simple materials can bring therapeutic benefits!

I prioritize a calm, empathetic and trauma-informed approach drawing from experiential and psychodynamic frameworks to unravel what brings you to therapy.
Building a therapeutic relationship with a safe and non-judgemental professional can do wonders as we navigate life through their own lens, narratives and perspectives. I believe that it takes immense courage to commit to better understanding of our inner workings, and the ways we relate to others. Our cultural contexts, personal upbringings, and relationships influence how we learn to process and work through our emotions and circumstances. Together, we can empathetically lean into curiosity and connect pieces that have felt confusing or disconnected for some time.

If you have been told your whole life to just try harder or stay focused, I want you to know that you are not lazy. You are just tired of trying harder for a world that wasn't built for your brain, fighting a daily battle to do things that look so easy for everyone else.
Maybe it’s the exhaustion of always running behind and procrastinating. Maybe it’s that daily fight with your brain to avoid binging that TV show and finally start working on that assignment. You likely know exactly what you need to do, but you just can’t get yourself to do it.

Most people don’t start therapy because one big thing has gone wrong. It’s usually a buildup, feeling stuck in the same patterns, overthinking relationships, or quietly wondering, “why does this keep happening to me?”
I work with people navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, family expectations, and the pressure of trying to keep everyone else comfortable while losing touch with themselves. Often, they’re tired, not just of what they’re dealing with, but of holding it all together alone.

Psychodynamic Counsellors
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
