My counselling approach is informed by different models (such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR ).
My passion is to walk along side with people during their journey towards healing and growth. I value each client as a unique individual, who deserves to be treated with compassion and respect. I believe that developing emotional maturity and gaining self-understanding are essential steps towards personal growth.Over the course of our lives, we all inevitably experienced some emotional wounds, which hinder us from personal growth. Counselling serves as a process to help us uncover those wounds and heal, and in the process, gain self-understanding and self-awareness, and be empowered to make changes towards holistic growth.

Combining both mind and body approaches, I integrate EMDR , IFS, EFT, and sensorimotor psychotherapy in my work with clients.
This isn’t who you are. Something in you already knows that or you wouldn’t be here. Who you are is buried underneath the patterns, habits, and ways of being in the world that you’ve had to adopt in order to carry on. We all adopt strategies that keep us safe and protected, help us move forward. They're often needed - and they come at a cost. Along the way we fallen out of touch with ourselves - the version of us who lives freely and playfully. What if there was a different way? One where we can live life while staying connected with who we are. Transformations are possible - and it starts with our relationship to ourselves.

Combining over a decade of experience as a creative arts therapist with certifications and training in Complex Trauma, EMDR , Internal Family Systems, and Yoga therapy for trauma, I am here to support you on your journey towards lasting change.
Are you really living? Or simply getting by? If life has become a treadmill of unhappy thoughts and unfulfilling behaviours, you're not alone. So many of us move from one unconscious pattern to the next, trapped in cycles that can leave us feeling hopeless and helpless. These cycles can keep us stuck in mindsets that cause distress, habits that make us miserable and relationships that bring us down. We go through the motions, our days shaped by these old cycles and patterns, and how we spend our days becomes how we spend our lives. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimising its ability to trigger anxiety.
