There are times in life when things feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to manage alone. Therapy can offer a steady space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and feel supported as you work through it. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when you feel safe, understood, and accepted without judgment. Together, we explore what may be keeping you stuck, notice unhelpful patterns, and build practical tools to support emotional clarity and everyday coping.

I provide trauma-informed therapy integrating EMDR, CBT, and DBT with Islamic Psychology principles.
You're a Muslim parent worried about your anxious child who's struggling at school, or a young adult feeling caught between your faith and the pressures of Western culture. Maybe you've tried therapy before but felt misunderstood when you mentioned prayer or Ramadan. Perhaps you're carrying trauma—from childhood, migration, or discrimination—and you're exhausted from explaining your background to therapists who don't get it.
You want healing that honors your whole self: your mind, your faith, your culture. You want a therapist who understands why Jummah matters, and why mental health and spirituality aren't separate.

I help individuals and couples break unhelpful patterns and feel more secure, confident, and connected in themselves and their relationships. If you’re stuck in the same arguments, questioning your relationship, or feeling emotionally distant even though you care deeply, you’re not alone.
You might be dealing with resentment, fights that never get resolved, relationship anxiety, baggage from past relationships, or feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward. From the outside, things may look “fine,” but inside, it feels heavy and exhausting.

Hey! I’m Patricia - a psychotherapist who often supports the people who are used to holding it all together for others while they quietly run on empty. You might be the person everyone turns to for support, the over-thinker whose brain never seems to switch off, or someone navigating difficult life transitions, relationship challenges, health concerns, or questions about who you are and where you're headed. Maybe you've spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you've lost touch with what you need. Part of you wants to open up, and part of you isn’t sure what to say, or if therapy could help.

For clients struggling with emotional eating, we go beyond surface-level solutions. While intuitive eating is often the goal, many people find it doesn’t work immediately. Together, we focus on building the foundation first, through structured eating, emotional regulation, and understanding underlying drivers such as shame, perfectionism, and unmet needs.

Through evidence-based modalities like DBT, IFS, EFT, ACT, and mindfulness, we address your unique needs.
I believe in an acceptance-based approach, meaning that I don't view clients as being broken or having something to fix. Rather, we experience emotions at an extreme level and are seeking balance and control over our emotional brain. I can help by teaching you how to listen and understand the purpose of your emotions and then how to be the one in control.

You’ve always been the one others relied on, responsible, capable, composed. But under the surface, there’s anxiety, self-doubt, and a feeling that you’re never quite enough. Maybe you learned early on to care for others at the cost of yourself. Now, you're exhausted from overthinking, over-performing, and constantly striving. You want to feel more grounded, to set boundaries without guilt, and to live in a way that actually feels like you.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Counsellors
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
