My practice is influenced by relational, narrative, experiential, and existential modalities, which I have a keen interest in integrating with creative and somatic techniques.
I draw on both my professional experiences (supporting clients with experiences of grief, trauma, intergenerational trauma, and marginalization), and my personal lived experiences (as a brown, queer, neurodivergent, second generation immigrant). They encourage me to be reflexive and to show up with a deep appreciation for empathy, authenticity, and humility.

Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, chronic pain, trauma, or OCD? Our emotional struggles can often accompany a disconnect between ourselves and others in our lives, and also between our minds and our emotions and bodies. When we do not feel whole we do not seem to be able to live fully and meaningfully within ourselves or in our relationships. Instead, we are met with painful emotional, cognitive, and physical symptoms that hold us back in life. You are not alone in this struggle. I can help you reconnect with yourself. I work with teens (14 years and older) and adults.

I use trauma-informed, somatic, and parts-based approaches, and may incorporate EMDR when appropriate.
You're not just stressed — you're worn down from functioning in survival mode. You may look fine on the outside, but inside you feel on edge, shut down, or emotionally flat. You've likely tried therapy or self-help already and are frustrated that understanding hasn't changed how your body reacts. What makes this different: I'm both a therapist and a Registered Practical Nurse. I understand how chronic stress shows up physically — in your sleep, digestion, immune system, and pain levels. We work with your whole system, not just your thoughts.

My integrative approach for individuals pulls from various interventions like cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused, somatic, attachment theory and positive psychology models.
Every person goes through multiple transitions in their life at different ages, specifically in adolescence and throughout adulthood. Change can sometimes, bring you unexpected stress, anxiety, feelings of overwhelm or helplessness. When your usual coping tools are no longer working, or you are experiencing an increase in negative thinking, emotional reactivity and maladaptive behaviours, then finding a psychotherapist to work with and help you to identify new goals, explore alternative coping skills and co-create a therapeutic plan to help navigate life stressors can be helpful.

Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected – from themselves, from others, or from life in general. Stress, trauma, and daily demands take their toll, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward. I believe healing begins with reconnection to what matters most. In our work together, we slow things down, make space for whatever has been hard to hold, and gently rediscover the parts of you that have been lost along the way. My approach is emotionally grounded, trauma-informed, and collaborative. Together, we co-create a space where healing feels possible and meaningful change can take root.

I work with adults who are struggling internally but still functioning in their day-to-day lives. They may be dealing with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, or significant life transitions, and often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Many are thoughtful and self-aware, yet find themselves repeating the same patterns despite insight. I help clients understand the processes of maintaining these patterns—across thoughts, emotions, and behaviours—and work with them to create meaningful, lasting change through a structured, intentional approach.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
