Accepting new clients. One of the most important human needs is to be witnessed — to feel heard, seen, and supported. This is my wish for you. Through the strength of my clients sharing their stories and from my own experiences with repeated miscarriages, fertility treatment and motherhood, I have learned that each person’s story is unique and worth telling. I will support you wherever you are in the spectrum of womanhood— infertility, loss, pregnancy, birth trauma, postpartum, motherhood, and beyond. As a former doula turned therapist, I have spent the last decade supporting women through these vulnerable life stages.

I spent years in infertility treatment, experienced losses, and chose single parenthood myself, I am uniquely equipped to offer support a place to put down your burden.
Are you finding the early days of parenthood more challenging than you could have anticipated? Maybe you're navigating the challenges of infertility or dealing with the heartbreak of pregnancy loss? Or are you yearning to become a parent and considering or starting the journey toward single parenthood? None of these are easy places to be. Since these topics are often stigmatised it can be hard to know where to look for support. My training and experience are tailored to help you feel seen and supported as you work through grief, anxiety, and overwhelm and any other experience or emotion that's arising for you.

My practice also includes overcoming childhood experiences, and processing grief related to trauma, infertility, chronic illness, death and dying.
Accepting new clients again; starting in January! First 30-minute session is free. Do you need help improving your depression and anxiety symptoms? Maybe you feel down and overwhelmed, unsure how to get unstuck. You don't feel like yourself and feel overwhelmed by everything. The cliche self-care (bubble baths, journaling, cups of tea) aren't working for you. Do you use social media or avoidance to cope with these feelings but they leave you more depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, and overstimulated. As someone who understands how you feel, having experienced this myself before, I am here to help.

I believe that life is a journey and sometimes you need someone to come alongside and help you discover how to live your best life. I strongly believe that therapy should not be one size fits all. In my many years of working with clients in difficult situations, I have learned that people are the experts in their own lives and each person deserves respect, empathy and a non-judgmental stance.

Infertility Counsellors

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
