I am passionate about working with
women
who have never felt their worth no matter how many accomplishments they have acquired, or imagine themselves needing to measure up to other
women
"more" successful.
Have you ever felt like you needed to do “more” or be “more” in order to feel like you are “enough?” Overwhelmed by guilt if you have needs of your own? Or believe if you did acknowledge YOU in relationships it could end in abandonment, disappointment or being alone? You may have learned to relate to yourself in this way for as long as you can remember and does not mean you are “broken” in need of being “fixed”. When we remove judgment and begin to see our “true self” through the lens of curiosity we get to reconnect with who we have always wanted to be but was too afraid to try.

I also have specialized training and experience working with men and
women
in the criminal justice system, youth at risk of out of home placement, and issues affecting adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents.
As a therapist, reunification counsellor, mediator, parenting coordinator, and collaboratively trained professional, I specialize in offering a full range of therapeutic and alternative forms of conflict resolution to families in dispute. Regardless as to where you are in the lifecycle of your family or separation process, parents are assisted to identify their concerns, learn to address their needs, and to separate those needs from the needs of their children. Parents are encouraged to hear their children's voices and to embrace their roles responsibly as the adult decision makers charged with storying their children's legacy.

My doctoral research was on ways 'wisdom' was perceived by
women
living with ovarian cancer.
When everything falls apart, or how you've coped before isn't working any more, it is time for a different approach. Sessions focus on (re)discovering the strengths you may not feel you have, learning mindful self-compassion practices to support yourself more kindly, discern what wisdom means for you and how to access your practical wisdom for living your life and finding a way through, no matter what you are facing. Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, burnout, stress can be the catalysts for changing your thinking, behaviours and patterns to discover new ways to live your life.

The clients I serve in my practice are
women
, people of colour, indigenous communities and lgbt2sq identified people. You’ve been in therapy before and although you’ve seen results you aren’t yet at the place you want to be. Feelings of stress, anxiety, stuckness and depression are familiar to you. You’ve been going in circles in your relationships and your career and now you’re ready to dig deeper. Your core beliefs keep pulling you back into old patterns like people pleasing, controlling behaviours, co-dependency, and difficulty prioritizing yourself and identifying your needs.

If you are a parent struggling to help your child or trying to work through some issues of your own as a
woman
or a parent (or both), reach out.
You’re getting calls from the school about your child. That’s if he even makes it to school. Your sweet little baby is almost unrecognizable. She hates herself, she hates you, and you’re an idiot for trying to help. He spends most of his time in his room glued to the phone or yelling at you. And you can’t figure out what’s going on. Or maybe you're struggling issues around parenting, post-partum issues, or your own relationships. Your anxiety is out of control, you feel hopeless, you know something has to change. Adulting is hard.

As
women
we sometimes need an outside voice to work through all of our inside thoughts and voices to get to the root of what we are struggling with.
Feeling overwhelmed and putting heart racing pressure on yourself to be a version of you that you think you "should be" is a slippery slope that can leave you feeling depleted, irritable and full of shame. It's important to understand our emotions to know what to do with them and with a million competing demands on your brain and your time it's hard to take a breath to figure it out! The thought that we don't have it all together when it seems like everyone else has all the things figured out makes to you want to hide in your bed tucked under the blankets (even though sleep is a dream) stuck in a nasty spiral of failure.

You force yourself to get out of bed most mornings. The things you used to look forward to and enjoy now bring anxiety and dread. Perhaps you feel a loss of identity. As

The smile you wear everyday on the outside is wearing you down on the inside. You've accomplished a lot, yet you still feel like you're coming up short. At the root of your anxiety is a familiar sense that you're not good enough unless you make something of yourself. It pushes you to excel at work, but it riddles you with doubt in your relationships and makes it hard to be honest about how you feel. You hold your feelings back from the people you love because you don't want to burden them. So you keep your struggles to yourself. This is the way it's always been, but you're reaching a breaking point.

How can I find a therapist in London?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $300 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
