I strive to create a safe space where adults, youth, couples , and families could dig deep to rediscover their strengths and ultimately confront the demons they are struggling with in their various relationships.
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING CLIENTS. WEEKENDS AVAILABLE. I am an international social work practitioner. I have been practicing and teaching social work for the past 25 years. As I am a reflective listener, I have learned that each client's lived experience is an interesting biography. I, therefore, like to explore with clients the issues and problems they face in order to identify their roots. Naturally my approach to therapy is deeply rooted in people's freedom of choice. I consider myself patient, considerate, practical, and very respectful of clients and their choices.

I also work with parents and couples to help them navigate relational issues that may be impacting their home.
Do you sometimes think to yourself "Gosh, my child's behaviour is out of control!". Do you think "I want to help my child so desperately but somehow it feels like I end up making things worse" ? Maybe you blame yourself and wonder "where did I go wrong?". Maybe other people in your child's life blame you. You know something needs to change but don't know where else to look. You've exhausted all the options you know of- you've spoken to other moms, teachers, maybe other therapists. You worry about your child's happiness and stability if something doesn't change. This is hard stuff! I want you to know, you're in the right place!

I offer individual therapy and counselling for adults who may be coping with anxiety and/or panic, depression, impacts of childhood abuse and neglect, recent or past traumatic events, relationship or social issues, anger, and low self-esteem.
Sometimes we need someone to listen us in order to gain insight and understanding, then we can come up with a plan to help manage or address what we are going through - whether it's a difficult life transition, a loss, or stressful life event(s). My approach to counselling is to create a collaborative process to support individuals with their mental health recovery. I work from a strengths-based perspective in order to assist people as they overcome adversity and life challenges.

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly," said Richard Bach in Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah- Do you often feel weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, or addiction? Emotions can be so overwhelming that you can't often express them in words. I always encourage my clients to adopt a relationship -center strategy in assessing their needs and explore their issues honestly to create a positive change towards a greater sense of well-being and mental health.

I am a registered clinical counsellor and have been working as a counsellor since 2020. I offer clients a supportive place to be heard, validated, and to personally reflect. I believe that there are many life experiences that bring individuals into counselling. I am looking for clients who want to see a change in their lives, want to better understand themselves, and who want to heal from the challenges life has thrown at them. I enjoy meeting my clients where they are at and supporting them along their journey. I work with adults, families, couples , and youth.

*New clients welcome!* Adulting can be hard and life can feel very dark at times. Navigating relationships, work, parenting, and day-to-day stress is enough in itself; add in childhood trauma and negative self-talk, and in time you are left feeling helpless and asking yourself, “how did I/we get here?”. You want to feel better and do better but despite your best shot you just can’t figure it out. I get it! I offer individual and couples therapy where you will have the opportunity to heal, resest, and move forward in the way you've been dreaming of.

I have a soft spot for working with individuals who want support with complex relationship issues, coping with stress, and improving self-confidence.
Are you working so hard in every aspect of your life only to feel like things still aren’t good enough? Like your relationships are destined for failure, you’ll never be able to cope with the curveballs life throws at you, and there’s something inside yourself that just feels… wrong? Maybe you've convinced yourself that if it just looks like you have the perfect career, relationship , and family, that somehow it will become your reality. I’ve been down this same road, and what I eventually realized was that, when I spent all my time focused on being "better" or achieving more, I lost sight of myself and those who mattered most to me.

I'm a Master's Level Clinical Social Worker and have supported adults, teens and couples to address some of the difficult events that have impacted their lives.
Taking New Clients! We all strive to be happy. But some days life can feel so overwhelming its hard to breathe. We may feel anxious, sad or frustrated, and it's hard to cope with day to day challenges. Our feelings can impact our relationships with our family, our ability at work, or time with our friends. They may cause self-doubt, social issues and health concerns. Often we have no idea where these feelings are coming from. We just know we are hurting. But to effectively address these feelings we need to have a better understanding of what's causing the difficulties.

My primary areas of focus are anxiety, depression, men's issues, stress, life changes and relationship issues.
In a world that is becoming increasingly complicated every day, therapy is a safe space away from the pressures of daily life where you can explore your concerns without judgement. My aim as a therapist is to create an environment where I can support you in exploring what is bothering you and we can work as a team to find solutions that are tailored to your unique story and circumstances. I draw from a range of therapies but my main guiding principles come from a strengths-based perspective. I believe above all that YOU are the expert in your own life and that I am merely here to help you on your road to self-actualization.

As an intern completing my MSW, my approach is relationship focused, trauma informed, and draws upon over 7 years of experience in the mental health field.
Do you feel like you’re trapped in a cycle you can’t change? Maybe your identity and relationships seem complicated or confusing, or you’re struggling through a time of major change. Perhaps you feel like you’re never good enough or that the people around you don't understand you. Talking through difficult experiences might seem vulnerable and overwhelming, but doing so can help make these complex issues more manageable.

I enjoy working with individuals, families, and couples . This might be the first time you are seeking counselling or you may be seeking for a different counselling experience, picking the right counsellor for you is important. It is important to understand how we interpret our experiences and how they affects us. Our environments also have the ability to impact the way we interpret our experiences and interactions; it can be helpful to develop an awareness of the common miscommunication we experience based on our past experiences and in challenging ourselves to take steps towards wellness.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
