Negative events or stressful experiences can interfere with how you are feeling about yourself and your relationships with others. When your mood feels up and down and you are under deep stress, it is hard to see a way out. When your past troubles you and impacts your present (and you fear the future) it can be devastating. You want to feel better, lighter, and like you've moved "past your past". You want a full life that feels easier than the one you're living. You want to be a better parent, partner, friend and family member. I completely understand, and I can help.

The LCTT is an award-winning psychotherapy clinic. We understand your pain- depression, anxiety, stress, overwhelm. We know you're tired of living the same old story, that you want to move on from the past but don't know how. When your parenting, relationships and happiness are all suffering, you need change and you need help. It is so frustrating when you wonder, "what is wrong with me?!" or- you know what's wrong, but have no idea how to change. Maybe the ways you have tried before have failed you, or only lasted a little while. Take a breath- you're in the right spot and we are going to help you transform.

I work with adults, children, and families navigating life challenges including trauma, grief, anxiety, life altering illnesses and other life transitions. You’re tired of feeling like life is something you’re just getting through—each day a battle with anxiety, overwhelm, and the weight of past trauma. You want real change. You want to wake up feeling lighter, with more peace and less stress. You want relationships that lift you up, not ones that drain and wear you down. Most of all, you want to feel whole again, like the version of yourself that you know is in there but has been buried under all the pain. As a seasoned trauma therapist, I deeply understand the depth of your pain and your desire to heal.

You’ve been told you’re “too sensitive” or “too much,” but really, you’re just surviving with a nervous system that’s carried too much for too long. Maybe you live with big emotions, constant overthinking, or deep shame rooted in past sexual trauma. You might be masking ADHD, navigating traits of BPD, or quietly struggling to feel worthy of love. You’re not looking for surface-level therapy, you want someone who sees both your pain and your brilliance. You deserve a soft, creative, non-judgmental space to heal, express, and feel safe being your full self. Therapy doesn’t have to be clinical, it can feel like coming home.

Are you seeking a supportive outlet to address childhood issues, navigate traumatic events, manage anger spells, and alleviate feelings of depression or anxiety? If so, I invite you to explore healthier alternatives than the temporary relief found in alcohol, shopping sprees, or excessive consumption of adult content. If you've found yourself preoccupied with non-medical drug use or starting your day with a sweet treat to trigger a rush of dopamine, it may be time to examine these patterns. Discover how to regain control over your thoughts and emotions, and explore the connection between your behaviours and past experiences.

It is so difficult living in a world that wasn’t made for you - that wasn’t made for so many of us. Your life has been very different than those around you, and you’re tired of trying to explain because you’re met with confusion, misunderstanding, or even hostility. Maybe you’re deep in depression, frozen with anxiety, haunted by intrusive memories of past abuse, or trapped in a currently abusive environment. Maybe you’re living as someone you know in your heart you aren’t, or maybe you’ve found yourself, but others have been slow to accept it. Maybe you’re trapped by your own or others’ expectations, feeling like you can’t breathe.

Welcome to your journey of growth and self-discovery. Let’s create a space where you can feel supported, safe, and free to explore the challenges that may be holding you back; our sessions will be a space where all emotions—whether it’s laughing, crying, or even swearing—are welcome. I want you to be as unedited as you can be. I know it can be intimidating to share your personal story with someone new.

My practice focuses on the psychological treatment for clients across the lifespan. Presenting issues include anxiety, depression, challenges with emotions, trauma, and relationship issues. I have over twenty years of experience as a clinical psychologist working within the London community. In recent years, I have had the pleasure of expanding my practice to include clinical associates who have advanced training in child clinical and school psychology. My approach is integrative, but I do strongly respect the role of emotions and attachment in understanding difficulties and promoting healing.

Accepting new clients again for June/July start. First 30-minute session is free! Do you need help improving your depression and anxiety symptoms? Maybe you feel down and overwhelmed, unsure how to get unstuck. You don't feel like yourself and feel overwhelmed by everything. The cliche self-care (bubble baths, journaling, cups of tea) aren't working for you. Do you use social media or avoidance to cope with these feelings but they leave you more depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, and overstimulated? As someone who understands how you feel, having experienced this myself before, I am here to help.

How does cognitive processing therapy work?

A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?

Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioural therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?

CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?

A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
