~Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do~- Brené Brown. Life presents us with all types of road blocks, situations and experiences that may have our body and mind reacting in different ways or feelings. Children, adolescents and adults all experience feelings that provide internal and external responses. Coping with the way our mind and body feels through these situations does not have to be done alone. Your goals and feelings are important. You deserve a safe space to process and create intentional coping skills.

I often use attachment-based therapies but I also feel therapy is not a one therapy fits all.
The thought of talking to stranger about deeply personal issues can feel daunting. Talking to a therapist who values your story and perspective can guide understanding, empowerment and healing. Whether you are beginning to notice a sense of dissatisfaction with life, difficulty with relationships or heightening anxiety therapy is a space to feel heard and validated . Pressure and expectations can leave us feeling alone and wondering how we ended up here. Sometimes things happen that are outside of our control, things that impact us in ways that we never could have imagined. You are important and understanding yourself matters.

Using a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach, I integrate EMDR therapy, Inner Child Work, and more to help you reconnect with the younger parts of yourself that may still hold fear, pain, or unmet needs.
Our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world. When childhood trauma, emotional neglect, or disconnection occurs, it can impact us well into adulthood—affecting self-esteem, boundaries, relationships, and emotional regulation.
You might feel stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, shutting down in conflict, or feeling anxious in close relationships. These aren’t personal failures—they’re trauma responses your nervous system developed to survive.
As a trauma therapist, I offer a safe, culturally sensitive, and client-centered space to help you explore these patterns at your own pace.

I use a trauma informed, attachment-based approach, integrating elements of different evidence based or informed therapies (CBT, DBT, Play therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution focused, Narrative, etc.).
Welcome and thank you for considering me for your therapist. I believe that therapy is best thought of as a means of becoming the best possible version of yourself; this requires vulnerability, bravery, and a willingness to change or explore new ways to interact with the world, the people we care about, and ourselves. I am an integrative therapist who is collaborative, responsive, trauma informed, and YOU centred in my approach. I am committed to providing a space that is supportive, empowering, non-judgmental, and that recognizes the strengths you have or want to build on.

Sometimes life hurts and we are uncertain how to move forward. Trauma, grief, life transitions, difficult relationships, and past experiences often leave us searching for healing and hope. We don’t want to do this work alone, and yet we don’t always know where to turn. In the therapeutic relationship you will be heard and seen. In my practice I use a holistic, person-centred approach where together we will build a respectful relationship that allows you to gain new skills, acquire knowledge that helps bring about change, and work toward your personal goals.

Life can be challenging. It often doesn’t match the blueprint we envisioned. At times, we reflect on our situation and think “This is not the life I signed up for.” Nevertheless, life can be rich and rewarding. Despite the disappointments and struggles, life can still be good and satisfying. Night gives way to daylight, joy arrives in the morning: something more, something greater, propels us forward.
The first step to turning things around is realizing you are not alone. Therapy can be wonderfully helpful with this. You do not have to face it all on your own.

My work draws from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and attachment-based practices to support deep, lasting healing.
Grief, trauma, and loss can leave you feeling profoundly alone, even in the presence of others. When the pain runs deep, traditional talk therapy might not reach the places that need healing most. If you're carrying depression, identity struggles, low self-worth, or the weight of past experiences, you may feel stuck or disconnected from yourself. I work with individuals seeking deeper meaning, emotional reconnection, and a path forward that truly fits. You don’t have to navigate this alone. You deserve support that honors your story and helps you move toward healing with clarity, hope, and purpose.

My approach is best described as psychodynamic, attachment-based, and nervous-system informed.
If you experience uncontrollable worry, feelings of sadness, or experience significant psychological distress, life can become overwhelming and lack enjoyment. Intense emotions such as these can impact daily function at work and within personal relationships. I aim to help my clients uncover the root cause of these feelings, decrease symptoms, and develop adaptive coping strategies to promote a more peaceful life.

Attachment-based Counsellors
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
