Are you carrying the weight of trauma, childhood experiences, or difficult relationships? Maybe feeling overwhelmed, showing up for others while quietly setting aside your own needs. You don't have to carry this alone. I offer a compassionate, calm space to heal attachment wounds, strengthen boundaries, ease anxiety, and reconnect with what matters most to you. I support first responders, those from dysfunctional family systems, and couples seeking to break painful patterns. By exploring how your past and present impact you, we can release trauma, complex PTSD, people-pleasing, and shame, so you can feel lighter and more connected.

If you’re struggling with low self-esteem, addiction, anxiety, depression or trauma, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Perhaps you're dealing with constant racing thoughts that make it hard to relax, or you feel stuck in negative thought patterns that affect your mood and confidence. Maybe past experiences are affecting your present, making it difficult to feel at ease in your relationships or find joy in things that once made you happy. If you find yourself caught in a cycle of self-doubt, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed, I’ll help you develop practical tools to shift those patterns.

Many people come to therapy not because everything is falling apart, but because something inside feels tight, muted, or out of reach. You may be functioning well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself on the inside. My work is Gestalt-informed, body-based, and art-centered, which means we pay attention to what emerges through sensation, emotion, image, and lived experience, not just words. You don’t need to be creative, broken, or in crisis to come. Therapy here is a place to slow down, listen inwardly, and reconnect with what feels real, alive, and true for you. You are not alone.

I take a warm, collaborative, and integrative approach, drawing from relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed practices.
Many clients come to therapy feeling disconnected from their emotions, unsure of what they’re “supposed” to feel, or overly self-critical. Some feel empty, struggle to express their needs, or find themselves in relationships where they feel unseen. Often, these patterns come from growing up in homes where emotions weren’t noticed or supported, and as adults, this can show up as difficulty regulating feelings—shutting down, feeling overwhelmed, or swinging between the two.

Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. You might be noticing stress, low mood, anxiety, or simply a sense that something feels off. Sometimes it’s tied to a life transition, relationship challenges, trauma or concerns around your self-concept. Whatever brings you here, it’s worth paying attention to, and you deserve support. I offer a confidential, inclusive space where you can speak openly and be met with empathy and curiosity. Our work is collaborative and goal-oriented, whether that’s trauma processing, emotional regulation, symptom management or lifestyle shifts.

Psychodynamic Counsellors
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
