People don’t come to therapy because life is easy, they come because something feels heavy. You might be carrying more than you expected, or simply wanting things to feel different. Whatever brings you here, this is a space where we can slow things down and make sense of it together. With a decade of experience as a physician surgeon prior to transitioning to mental health, I bring a strong understanding of both body and mind. My approach is holistic, grounded in evidence-based therapies. We begin with a person-centered foundation, building a strong connection and then tailoring the work to your unique needs, strengths, and goals.

You may be used to being “the strong one” — the person who keeps showing up, caring for others, and holding everything together, even when you feel exhausted inside. Maybe you are a parent, teacher, caregiver, first responder, student, or professional who has been quietly overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or carrying more than anyone sees. In therapy, you do not have to hold it all alone. I offer a steady, judgment-free space to sit with the heavy moments, make sense of what has kept you stuck, and begin moving toward small, meaningful changes that feel sustainable, when you are ready.

My clients come with specific struggles: overthinking that keeps them up, avoidance of situations, difficulty making decisions, or habits that no longer align with how they want to live.

Imagine feeling trapped in a whirlpool of anxiety, unable to pause and take a breath. Or envision a racing mind that won’t slow down enough to focus on the strategies that could help. Conventional therapies might have all the right answers, but the body refuses to cooperate. You know WHAT to do, but your body and brain won't listen! Whether it’s extreme anxiety, hypervigilance, or attention deficit problems, challenges often lie in a constant battle between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems that leave many people caught in an unproductive cycle.

You’re insightful, self-aware, and often the one others turn to—but internally, things may feel more complex. You might notice overthinking, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, or relational patterns that don’t fully make sense. In individual therapy, I support adults in exploring these inner experiences through a relational, attachment-focused, emotion-focused, and parts-informed lens.
I also offer couples therapy and am EFT Level 1 trained, supporting partners in understanding stuck cycles, communicating with more care and clarity, and taking steps toward emotional safety, repair, and deeper connection.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
