I am currently accepting new supervisees and have some space available for new clients. If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably curious about who I am—and I’ll be honest: writing about myself (especially online) isn’t really my jam. I’m a bit on the private side. But I get that choosing a therapist or supervisor means wanting to know who you’re sitting across from. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with experience in community mental health, higher ed, and private practice. My work is predominantly virtual, supporting folks 16+ and fellow clinicians across Ottawa and Ontario.

Therapy isn't just about new realizations - it's about transforming those realizations into deliberate steps you can take to improve things. I am a strong advocate for a two pronged approach to mental health - developing coping strategies to handle times of crisis, and building a strong foundation to reduce the overall amount of crisis moments in your life. I enjoy working with people who have a wide variety of backgrounds and walks of life.

You might be supporting someone through MAID or VSED, caring for a dying parent, or living with grief that hasn't lessened. Perhaps you're a caregiver or healthcare worker feeling the weight of compassion fatigue. Or you're facing your own end-of-life decisions and need thoughtful, grounded support. You're looking for someone with real experience in these moments—who understands both the medical and emotional realities, who won't rush you toward closure, and who can hold space for uncertainty, fear, and hope all at once.

I often work with those who feel and think deeply and tend to carry more than they let on. You may feel stuck, weighed down by relationships, grieving, or questioning who you are beyond what’s been expected of you. You might be exploring neurodiversity, identity, queerness, belonging or meaning. Whether you’ve been through a big change or you’re sitting in a quiet that feels too loud, our work can be a space to untangle what’s been holding you back and move toward what feels more authentic. Those I work with tend to value honesty and are open to being challenged while still having a gentle space to sit with the discomfort.

I work with women who are feeling disconnected from themselves and others, often struggling with people-pleasing, driven by perfectionism and are feeling burnt out by self-imposed patterns of overachieving. If this sounds like you, you're not alone and I can help! My approach goes beyond surface-level solutions and instead encourages a deep-dive into looking at thoughts, feelings, and behaviours which once served a helpful purpose but may no longer feel aligned with your goals.

I provide meaningful support to those seeking positive change, deeper self-understanding, and a desire to live more fully and authentically, in connection with themselves and others. Many of my clients are adults and couples seeking a calm, relational space to explore life transitions, relationship challenges, meaning, and the influence of early relationships. I am a gentle and curious therapist. I offer a steady, grounded presence in the work, without pressure or an agenda. I bring compassion, honesty, and a quality of stubbornness that I hope is experienced as an unfaltering commitment to your wellbeing and growth.

You're the one who holds it together at work, at home, for everyone around you. But underneath that, something isn't right. Maybe it's anxiety that won't quit, burnout you've been ignoring, or a heaviness you can't quite name. Maybe you moved countries and you're still carrying the grief of everything you left behind while trying to build something new here. You don't have to keep pushing through alone. Using CBT, ACT, somatic therapy, and trauma-informed care, I'll help you understand what's actually driving your patterns and start building a life that feels like yours.

Life has its challenges and reaching out for help can be intimidating. As a therapist I recognize the importance of creating a safe space through compassion, and of building a sound therapeutic connection in order for change to occur. That connection is built through meeting clients where they are at emotionally and motivationally, by remaining a neutral observer, and by allowing the client to set the pace for meeting identified goals. Having this safe place to gain insight and build on your coping skills can help you better manage mental health and to move beyond feeling stuck.

Secular and Non-Religious Counsellors
What is a secular and non religious approach in therapy?
Secular or non-religious therapy is a theoretical orientation used by many therapists and describes a therapeutic approach that does not rely on any specific religious or faith-based beliefs in the therapeutic process. Secular counsellors will often approach therapy with an emphasis on evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients, instead of relying on religious practices, such as prayer or belief in God.

Is secular therapy primarily for non-religious people?
Both religious and non-religious individuals can benefit from secular therapy. People exploring their religious or spiritual beliefs may find it especially useful to work with a secular therapist who is unbiased toward any specific religion. While religious individuals might value the connection and familiarity of seeing a counsellor who shares their beliefs, secular counselling can offer them the chance to develop coping skills independent of their religious practice, which can be beneficial in various aspects of their lives.

Can a secular approach to therapy help with religious trauma?
One major reason clients may seek a secular therapist is to process previous religious experiences, including religious trauma. Secular therapists can help clients manage symptoms of the trauma through practices such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They can also encourage clients through talk therapy or psychodynamic approaches to explore the roots of their religious trauma. Since secular therapists do not have any predetermined religious beliefs, they can be particularly helpful for clients looking to explore their own religious beliefs following a history of religious trauma.

What does non religious marriage and premarital counselling involve?
Marriage and premarital counselling typically involves a couple meeting with a therapist to discuss topics such as planning for marriage, navigating a new marriage, addressing relationship challenges, and developing better communication and conflict resolution skills. Non-religious therapists assist couples in achieving these goals without adhering to specific religious beliefs or frameworks, often emphasising inclusivity and non-judgment, especially for "nontraditional" couples. However, seeking couples therapy from a non-religious counsellor does not mean religious topics are off-limits. In fact, non-religious couples from different religious backgrounds may benefit from a secular therapist who remains neutral toward the beliefs of each partner.
