I work with both teens and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma (including childhood trauma and racial trauma), posttraumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder (ADHD), addictions, compulsive behaviours and more. My therapy practice draws from my own experience as a client, the education and training I have attained and my vast work experience. All of this allows me to help my clients better understand the adversities they face, lessen depression and anxiety, process difficult memories, and develop a more loving relationship with themselves.

Everybody (generally speaking) wants the same thing deep down: security, acceptance, and significance. We are all fractured in different ways (whether self-induced, traumatized by others, or a combination of both) and it is imperative and healthy to sort through this. Clients who are serious about personal development and positive change are ideal because they are the ones who will grow. This involves motivation, truth telling, understanding, and application. If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, relational issues, spiritual issues, etc. then rest assured that healing is possible and there is hope.

Are you often in situations that feel like the spotlight is on you: your body gets heavy, your mind goes blank, and a sense of panic takes complete control? Having to perform can lead to feelings of anxiety or self-doubt. Whether you’re an athlete, performing on stage or in front of the camera, in the boardroom, or in front of your classmates/peers – these moments can feel like all eyes are on you, and that can be terrifying. A traumatic performance experience can replay in your mind, and can even impact the rest of your life. With support, you can begin to regain trust in yourself and move forward with renewed confidence.

Hello, and welcome! Life is messy, beautiful, enduring and at times intensely painful. My intention is to create a safe space for you to land, nourished with empathy and understanding. Many of us are reaching outside of ourselves for happiness or utilizing avoidance strategies to cope. As result, a void or level of fear that is often challenging to describe separates us from our inner joy. Although each individual I hold space for will speak this in their own unique way, I am here to assist you towards a more peaceful partnership with yourself, others and the world around you.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
