I believe that healing happens in relationships rooted in safety, compassion, and authenticity. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected—from yourself, from others, or from the life you want to be living. Perhaps you're holding the weight of past experiences that still echo in the present. Maybe you’ve been moving through the world feeling unseen, navigating spaces that weren’t built with your identity or story in mind. You might be looking for more clarity, connection, or simply a sense of feeling more like yourself again.

Having experienced disordered eating earlier in my life, I understand how entrenched these cycles can feel.
Many of my clients are high-functioning and capable, yet privately feel out of control for various reasons. In therapy, we identify the emotional triggers driving the behaviour, build tolerance, reduce shame, and develop practical skills that are transferable to everyday life.

I work with folks who struggle with issues related to PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, exercise & body image, relationship anxiety, and intrusive thoughts.
Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, & emotion challenges can be isolating, leading to feelings of shame & secrecy. Everyday "normal" functions may feel tough. Things as necessary as eating, moving, & relationships may feel overwhelming. At times your nervous system may feel hijacked & you react in unintended or even harmful ways. Your inner world feels chaotic, while those outside say "it's all in your head". Trauma informed therapy recognizes that you are not your symptoms/coping/survival strategies, but you can take responsibility for them. Your system learned this & with care & effort, can unlearn this, for you and your relationships.

Accepting New Clients - Reaching out for support is a courageous and empowering decision, and I am here to ensure you don’t have to carry your burdens alone. I believe therapy is a true partnership, not something "done" to you, but a journey we build together at a pace that feels right for you. Sometimes, the gap between our logical thoughts and our deep emotions can leave us feeling fractured. Together, we will work to bridge that gap, reconnecting with your inner child and healing the parts of you that have been wounded or overlooked.

My aim is to create a safe and non-judgmental space, that allows one to feel comfortable being their authentic self. I firmly believe that living a life aligned with one's values can bring a sense of purpose and meaning, and I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve this.

Have you ever felt like you do not belong, that you are gravely misunderstood? What about striving for perfection in all aspects of your life? Or constantly feeling like a stranger in your own body? Does any of this sound familiar to you? I can assure you that you are not alone in these struggles. We might try to put on a brave face for the world; however, cracks begin forming in our façade, and self-doubt creeps in and eats away at our sense of self. I am here to normalize these feelings and empower you to become the best version of yourself, whatever that might look like. You are allowed to take up space in your own healing.

I support clients in navigating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma and interpersonal challenges.
When anxiety, the weight of past experiences, or overwhelming emotions start taking up too much space, it can be hard to know where to begin. Therapy can offer a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and work toward meaningful change. I’m a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist. I specialize in supporting clients through trauma and anxiety in a way that feels grounded, collaborative, and effective.

What happens in therapy for eating disorders?
In therapy for eating disorders, patients typically describe their eating and exercise behaviors, their patterns of eating in relation to stress, their beliefs about their body, the ways their eating behavior affects their relationships, and their desire (or lack of it) to change. Such information helps the therapist understand the origins of the disorder and the role it plays in the patient’s life, important for guiding treatment. Attitudes and feelings about food and eating, body weight, and physical appearance are common topics of discussion throughout treatment.

What therapy types help with eating disorders?
Once any acute medical or psychiatric emergency is resolved, psychoactive medication is often prescribed, requiring the supervision of a psychiatrist. In addition, patients receive some form of nutritional counseling along with one or more forms of psychotherapy. For adolescents, family-based treatment is empirically validated and considered the first line of treatment; parents and their children meet weekly with a clinician as the adults are coached on how to nourish and psychologically support the young patient. Adults typically receive some form of individual psychotherapy, intended to resolve the cognitive and behavioral disturbances that underlie the disorder and to relieve the mood disturbances that accompany it. In addition, patients may also be helped by group therapy.

What is the goal of therapy for eating disorders?
The most immediate goal of treatment for eating disorders is to save the life of people who are on a path of starving themselves to death or engaging in eating patterns that are doing irreparable physical harm to their body. Once the acute medical danger is past, therapy is required to understand the nature of the disordered eating and/or exercise patterns, establish healthy eating behavior, and to tackle the many erroneous beliefs and distorted self-perceptions that underlie eating disorders and continue to pose a threat to health and life. Therapy also addresses the impaired mood that not only accompanies eating disorders but intensifies the danger to health and life.

What are the limitations of therapy for eating disorders?
Therapy can be very helpful for eating disorders—but that can happen only after people recognize they have a condition that must be treated. Especially with anorexia, the distortions in self-image that accompany the disorder can keep people from acknowledging they have a problem. Individuals may in fact see their eating disorder as a badge of self-control. Those with binge-eating disorder may feel too ashamed to seek help. Therapy cannot help those who do not avail themselves of it.

How long does therapy last for eating disorders?
Because of their complexity, recovery from eating disorders is usually a long-term process—measured in months and years— often marked by setbacks and relapse. Some form of help, such as individual or group therapy, may be advisable for much of that time. It is a general rule of thumb that the longer the illness has endured and the dysregulated eating behavior has taken root, the longer treatment is likely to be needed.
