I use an attachment based approach with a focus on somatic or body based therapy to explore the concerns that brought you to therapy.
Do you feel feel lost or confused about who you are, and what brings you joy or pleasure? Folks that prioritize everyone else around them end up exhausted and have no energy left. I work with people to help them find what they need – it could be validation, acknowledgement, finding the things that bring them joy, or discovering what pleasure feels like in their body. I will aid you in exploring the sensations in your body to figure out what causes stress, relaxation, or brings you joy so you have the ability to navigate between emotions and so you can live the life you want to live

Utilizing integrative approaches I will utilize DBT, CBT, EFFT, Somatic, and Energy Psychology based modalities to match the presenting concern, along with individual personality, temperament, and sensory differences.
I help anxious, perfectionistic, and highly sensitive people transform their relationship with their body to feel calm and confident as they navigate their life forward. You feel exhausted as your mind and body remind you each moment of every day of being consumed with anxiety. Not being understood by those closest to you, has you feeling alone. You may have ideas about what led to this, or maybe it came suddenly and you want to understand why. It’s here and feels fierce as it feels all consuming. You are trapped in your mind, ruminating about what has happened, while you wish it was different. You feel "stuck,” and want a change.

I incorporate a number of different treatment modalities into my clinical practice, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural approaches blended with somatic work to ensure we are working to facilitate healing in both mind and body.
You want to feel safe in your own mind and body again. You want to stop reacting from survival mode and start living with a sense of ease and control. You need a therapist who understands how trauma affects the nervous system, relationships, and self-worth. It’s about helping you process what’s happened, release what’s no longer serving you and reconnect with who you were always meant to be. I specialize in trauma recovery, supporting teenagers and adults as they make sense of their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and move toward a life that feels whole and meaningful.

I use an integrated approach that typically involves modalities such as somatic experiencing and sensorimotor psychotherapy, as well as internal family systems and DBT.
Accepting new clients. I enjoy working with people who have had long-term mental health struggles and a history of trauma. The people I see are often struggling with understanding the impact of childhood wounds, stressful relationships involving difficulties with intimacy or autonomy, coping with the after-effects of sexual violence and/or feeling stuck in emotions such as shame and loneliness. These people may be trying to reconcile their values and desired way of being in the world with intense reactions that seem to come out of the blue. I also do work regarding gender, sexuality and neurodivergence.

In addition to talk therapy, I am trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE).
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Do your thoughts keep racing from one thing to another? Do you find you are excellent at taking care of everyone else but keep neglecting yourself? I would like to help. I am passionate about helping people to move past the "shoulds" and move towards creating the kind of life they want to live. Most of the time when we are distressed we are worrying either too much about the past or the future, or are overly preoccupied by what we imagine other people are thinking about us.

Rooted in polyvagal theory, my curious and compassionate whole-person approach combines talk therapy, somatic techniques (Havening & Focusing), spiritual inquiry, Safe & Sound Protocol, mindfulness, humour, self-compassion, and education to support you to feel more capable, connected, confident, and buoyant in your life.
I believe deeply in the transformative power of a non-judgemental space where ALL of you is welcome. In the past, you may have had to silence or hide parts of yourself to fit in/stay safe. While effective short-term, overtime this disconnection can lead to panic, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, anger, addiction, and an underlying feeling of being lost or purposeless. The discomfort these experiences cause, can be an invitation into a more wholistic and authentic relationship with yourself. By communicating what's "wrong", our body is providing us with the 'start here' for finding our way back to what's "right".

I utilize specific modalities to assist each person reach their unique therapeutic goals, specifically, EMDR, Parts Work, Somatic Therapy, and CBT.
Trauma, much like a splinter, embeds itself into a person and affects all aspects of life. My primary objective is to create a safe and compassionate therapeutic alliance which facilitates healing and growth. With Trauma, I truly believe that the body holds a great deal of the emotional weight, without us knowing. I witnessed severe difficulties in my community, and as an adult I have grieved many friends who kept their suffering a secret, often until it was too late. I truly believe that every individual innately harbors the right set of tools to achieve their personal goals and find their way to a meaningful, fulfilling life.

I help growth-oriented women reconnect with their bodies, inner wisdom, and strengths through a blend of somatic therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness-based tools.
You’re the kind of person who always shows up—for others, for your work, for the world. But lately, you’re realizing it’s time to show up differently, for yourself. Maybe you’ve already done some inner work, but patterns like anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm still resurface. You might feel stuck or unsure about what’s next. Perhaps you sense something’s missing or you feel disconnected from what bring you joy or your deeper sense of purpose.

I work from a trauma-informed lens with a focus on somatic integration to connect mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.
I know that life can get complicated, messy, and stressful, and we often feel alone in our struggle. It can be difficult to allow ourselves to be seen, heard, and accepted for who we are, and it takes self-awareness, courage, and vulnerability to reach out for help, so I honour you for being here and taking the next step. Sharing your story and your struggles in a safe and supportive space can be empowering and healing. I believe in your capacity for resilience, growth, and healing.

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
