You might describe your life as “fine,” or say you’re getting by, surviving, doing okay. That’s how a lot of people feel... and it works, until it doesn’t. Maybe you feel disconnected from your emotions but have learned to function anyway. Maybe you avoid discomfort or push yourself to cope through it. Maybe you’ve repeated the same behaviors for so long that they just feel like who you are, even if something inside you knows they don’t quite fit.

If you're struggling to find moments of joy, you're feeling alone and overwhelmed, you wonder if something is wrong with you and you long for your life before becoming a parent- you're in the right place. If you're feeling resentment building with your partner, the voices of anxiety, depression, sadness and rage have been loud and you don't know know how to manage them- you're not alone. If you're working to heal from a traumatic birth, you are struggling with the demands of parenting and paid work and you do you don't know who you are anymore- I'd be honoured to hold space for you.

I don't think mental health is something you achieve, but rather something you work your whole life trying to improve and maintain. There are so many reasons why you can't seem to be the best version of yourself - lack of motivation, negative past experiences, fears, and insecurities. And sometimes you just need a space separate from your world to help clarify and better understand yourself and what's standing in your way. My goal is to create an open, trusting, and vulnerable space where you can be your most authentic self - I believe that is the state where insight and change takes place.

My clients usually come to therapy for relief from their mental health symptoms. They are often feeling overwhelmed, have been thinking about making changes for a long time and are feeling stuck in how to move forward. Together we look at the issues, explore how it is impacting their lives, and come up goals and a treatment plan. This treatment plan includes learning more about your mental health, gaining new skills and strategies that you will carry with you long after therapy ends, and finally practicing a language of self-compassion to replace unhelpful/critical thinking.

You hold everything together. You care for others. And somewhere along the way, you start to feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. I work with women and young adults navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, trauma, addiction, and relationship stress. Therapy can be a space to exhale, feel what’s been buried, name what’s been confusing, and begin to reconnect with your voice, body, and story.
