I'm a registered social worker that provides evidence-based therapy for individuals and couples. Perhaps you are struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression or you are unhappy in your relationship. You might be avoiding difficult situations or finding ways to escape from how you are feeling. As a couple, you might be feeling stuck. Your conversations or arguments go in circles and never feel resolved. It's become difficult to communicate and you feel disconnected from each other.

As a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor, I offer services for individuals and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, and more.
People come to therapy with the hope of improving their life stories in a meaningful way. They often long for circumstances to change, while at the same time feeling that painful emotions and relationship difficulties keep them stuck. If you feel like that’s your story - if you’ve struggled to build the life you want due to anxiety, depression, trauma, or negative relationship patterns, therapy can be the chapter where things finally start to change. Psychotherapy can be the chapter where you heal old wounds, overcome your fears, learn new skills, and find within yourself the strength to go forward with greater confidence and peace.

I am experienced with a broad spectrum of relationship styles and compositions, consensual power exchange structures, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
"Change only occurs once the need to change exceeds the pain of staying the same." Working with individuals, couples, and poly groups, together we develop awareness of systemic factors influencing conscious and subconscious behaviours and decision-making patterns. Then we focus on increasing the strengths and resources available to, and within, the client. Building on the basic Buddhist tenets of mindfulness, compassion, and congruence, we can paint a different picture of both personal and relational issues, and more effective, authentic ways of growing towards your goals.

You can both win in your relationship.
I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples! I offer a “Couples in Connection” course starting Jan. 26, 2025. Check it out on my website. As couples, we want to be able to talk without getting caught up in the same frustrating arguments that go nowhere. We want so much more than feeling empty inside like roommates, just parents, or good friends who pay the bills together. We desire security and love. But we have so many doubts and questions: Am I too much or not good enough? How can I build more balance within myself and in my relationship? How can I feel seen, heard, and fulfilled without creating conflict?

You're not sure when it happened but all of a sudden you don't recognize the person sleeping next to you. It's frightening and heartbreaking to think that this could be the end of your relationship. Maybe it started after the kids were born or maybe you're wondering if you're not as compatible as you thought. There's this distance between you that can no longer be ignored. You've become simple roommates but you want so much more from your relationship.

Whether your relationship is new and you seek to build healthy communication, or a relationship seasoned with life's challenges and difficulties, it is never too late or too early to build healthy patterns.
Broken relationships can mend. You CAN have healthy, fulfilling and deep connections. Relationships can breakdown, be it a slow drifting apart due to busy schedules, parenting, balancing work and life, or with choices that have been made that have hurt deeply. What was once a source of happiness and pleasure may become the very source of your deepest pain. The person who was once your most trusted ally and friend, now seems more like a stranger. How does one work through this and regain connection? Couples counselling can help! A therapist helps couples hear each other and be understood in a safe environment.

I help anxious, perfectionistic, and highly sensitive people transform their relationship with their body to feel calm and confident as they navigate their life forward. You feel exhausted as your mind and body remind you each moment of every day of being consumed with anxiety. Not being understood by those closest to you, has you feeling alone. You may have ideas about what led to this, or maybe it came suddenly and you want to understand why. It’s here and feels fierce as it feels all consuming. You are trapped in your mind, ruminating about what has happened, while you wish it was different. You feel "stuck,” and want a change.

I am a relationship specialist.
Do you ever struggle with feeling disconnected from others? Do you ever feel loneliness or discontent? Do you ever think that life should be easier? Do you ever feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, lost due to the pressure to live up to standards, or to just get through the day? Do you ever question, wonder, or hope that things could be better? Have you ever had something too terrible to talk about with others that you still feel the need to share? Neglecting your own needs and not taking time for yourself often leads to difficulties for both your mind and body. I believe that it shouldn't be so hard to live a better life.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
