I use a nervous system–led, integrative approach, blending cognitive, behavioural, and somatic therapies through a trauma- & hormone-informed lens.
Have you ever been called “too much,” “too emotional,” or felt like you’re just… a lot?
I work with women who feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break—especially when their emotions feel intense or unpredictable. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “why am I like this?” you’re not alone—and there are real, understandable reasons behind what you’re experiencing. Therapy can help you make sense of these patterns so you can feel more steady, clear, and like yourself again.

As a previous teacher, entrepreneur, and energy work practitioner, my therapeutic style is grounded in person-centered and mindfulness- and somatic-based modalities.
I empathize with how choosing a therapist and booking that first appointment can feel heavy sometimes. You are preparing to share deep aspects of yourself. It’s a level of vulnerability that requires courage. Research shows that choosing a therapist who feels trustworthy and genuine is important to having positive outcomes from therapy. Know that it is your right to keep looking until you find the right match. I encourage you to book introductory appointments with several therapists before making your choice. I honour your autonomy in this process and the wisdom you bring about the challenges you are facing.

With advanced training in EMDR and additional training in parts work, somatic, and emotion-focused approaches, I support emotional processing and meaningful change.
Welcome, I’m Alicia. I use EMDR therapy to process trauma and experiences that still shape how you feel, think, and respond. This work targets what remains stuck beneath the surface and creates real, lasting change. Together, we make sense of patterns, build self-trust, and shift how you relate to yourself and others. My style is direct, grounded, and attuned, offering a space that is both supportive and focused, where meaningful work can unfold.
Alongside trauma work, I support athletes and creatives in clearing blocks, accessing flow, and performing with clarity and confidence.

My approach is grounded in a Gestalt-Relational theory and merges various aspects from emotion-focused, psychodynamic, somatic, and humanistic schools.
I'm guessing that if you're reading this, you’re struggling with something, and while you probably know how it’s impacting your life, you may not know why. You’re wrestling with something, probably in silence, feeling disconnected from the world around you, and are unsure how to find your way back.
This shows up through anger, turning to drink, drugs, porn or videogames as a distraction, lack of sexual integrity, people-pleasing behaviour, no joy or adventure in your life, worry, work dissatisfaction, and poor relationships with those you care about.
Know that you're not the only man to feel this.

Accepting individuals (16+), couples, and parents in Ontario and Newfoundland. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2018 and have Level 3 training in AEDP, a relational and emotion-focused approach to therapy. I don't just believe that growth, change, and healing are possible, I know it. Beyond the neuroscientific evidence for the brain's innate capacity to rewire and change throughout our lives, I know it through my work as a therapist and through my own lived experience. Both in and through relationships, human beings have an extraordinary capacity to heal, grow and to flourish.

Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected – from themselves, from others, or from life in general. Stress, trauma, and daily demands take their toll, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward.
I believe healing begins with reconnection to what matters most. In our work together, we slow things down, make space for whatever has been hard to hold, and gently rediscover the parts of you that have been lost along the way. My approach is emotionally grounded, trauma-informed, and collaborative. Together, we co-create a space where healing feels possible and meaningful change can take root.

Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, chronic pain, trauma, or OCD? Our emotional struggles can often accompany a disconnect between ourselves and others in our lives, and also between our minds and our emotions and bodies. When we do not feel whole we do not seem to be able to live fully and meaningfully within ourselves or in our relationships. Instead, we are met with painful emotional, cognitive, and physical symptoms that hold us back in life. You are not alone in this struggle. I can help you reconnect with yourself. I work with teens (14 years and older) and adults.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
