Welcome, I’m Alicia. I use EMDR therapy to process trauma and experiences that still shape how you feel, think, and respond. This work targets what remains stuck beneath the surface and creates real, lasting change. Together, we make sense of patterns, build self-trust, and shift how you relate to yourself and others. My style is direct, grounded, and attuned, offering a space that is both supportive and focused, where meaningful work can unfold.
Alongside trauma work, I support athletes and creatives in clearing blocks, accessing flow, and performing with clarity and confidence.

Trauma changes you, but it does not have to define you. It is a chapter in your story, but it does not have to be your entire story. With 14 years of experience working with survivors of childhood abuse, sexual violence, and emotional neglect, I understand the complexity and depth of the pain you may carry. Sometimes that pain manifests itself as complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or dissociation, leading to feelings of helplessness or hopelessness. Healing from trauma can feel like an overwhelming journey, but you don’t have to walk that path alone.

Trauma has a way of following you — into your sleep, your relationships, your sense of who you are. Maybe you've tried to push through it. Maybe you've told yourself it wasn't that bad. But it keeps showing up anyway. I work with adults and teens across Ontario and Nova Scotia who are struggling with PTSD, trauma, and anxiety. You don't have to keep carrying this alone. I create a space where you can talk honestly — without fear of judgment — and start to feel like yourself again.

I also work with couples navigating communication difficulties, conflict, emotional disconnection, intimacy, and attachment, helping partners build safer, more secure, and intentional relationships.

Therapy can be a space to feel deeply seen, to explore the hidden currents of your inner world, and to make sense of the patterns that shape your life. Whether you’re facing challenges, untangling relationship dynamics, or seeking greater emotional clarity, I offer a warm, collaborative space. My approach is centred on emotional attunement, self-understanding, and growth, helping clients connect with their thoughts, feelings, and needs, and cultivate self-compassion and inner steadiness. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also offer Sandtray therapy - a creative, hands-on way to explore experiences beyond words.

You love your partner, but find yourself wondering “what happened to us?”. You just keep waiting for things to get better on their own, but they don’t. You barely recognize yourself or your partner anymore. Maybe you find yourself fantasizing about leaving the relationship all together. Things in the bedroom are even worse. Maybe you and your partner are trying to find a way back from infidelity. You’re lonely. You feel embarrassed. Maybe you’re staying together for the kids. You or your partner are worried about going to couples therapy because of fear that the therapist is going to pick a side…

How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.
Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.
How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.
Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
