I specialize in family dynamics, parent child conflict, parenting support, child development and the mental health needs of children.
I believe that relationship and connection is the context for raising children. Whether you're hoping to eat healthier or move your body more consistently, reduce stress and feel more balanced, be a more present parent or partner, shift habits that no longer serve you, reconnect with what actually nourishes you, therapy can be a space to move from intention to action — without shame, pressure, or perfection.
I work with professionals, parents, and overextended hearts who carry the weight of it all quietly. Maybe you’re doing okay—managing work, showing up for others—but life feels busy, distracted, and a little disconnected. You want to take better care of yourself, build healthier habits, feel more connected in your relationships, and live more intentionally… but it’s hard to find the time or energy to follow through. Productivity and constant doing have been glorified—often at the expense of rest, connection, and the deeper parts of ourselves. We’ve lost sight of what truly matters.

I love working with couples, families and family issues, including parenting issues.
Your relationship isn’t where you imagined it would be, and that hurts. The constant arguments, the distance, the feeling that no matter what you try, you just can’t get on the same page—it’s draining. You miss the connection, the love, the ease you once had. Whether it’s miscommunication, unresolved hurt, or feeling like you’ve grown apart, you are struggling to remember the last time you both truly felt understood. It feels like you are stuck in a cycle, and you don’t know how to break it. As a couples therapist, I help partners like you rebuild that lost connection.

I have particular experience in the areas of adolescent mental health, addressing parent-child conflict and supporting adoptions and adoptive families.
I believe in the changes and improvements that can be achieved when issues are addressed through counselling and therapy. That change is exponential when achieved in childhood and I work with my clients on their journey towards this. Sessions can range from individual children and youth to full family sessions.

I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the experience of life's transitions, such as becoming a new parent.
Welcome to my profile, it's nice to see you! Are you finding it hard to regulate your emotions, like you're always "on" and can never calm down? Feel helpless, hopeless, or even find it hard to get up in the morning let alone get through the day? You're not alone! I've been there, wanting to be less harsh on myself, manage intrusive thoughts more effectively, and be more present with my family. It can be a vulnerable process to address our challenges, but so worth it once we reach our goals. Therapy can help you to regulate emotions and challenge thoughts more effectively, process past experiences, and ultimately grow and thrive.

I specialize in grief including the loss of a child, anticipatory grief, parenting, parenting a child with mental or physical illnesses, trauma, compassion fatigue/empathic strain, burnout, anxiety and depression.
With over 17 years experience supporting mental health and grief, I am known for helping others feel comfortable with the sometimes-intimidating experience of therapy. We all carry with us life experiences that can decrease our ability to cope at any given time. I see therapy as a time to engage in self-care and a place where one can begin healing and learn ways to cope with life’s ongoing challenges. I can help you uncover patterns that may be holding you back, validate your experiences, and collaborate with you to work toward your goals. Also, as a Social Worker, I am able to connect clients with other resources in the community.

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
