I help adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, interpersonal challenges, and low self-esteem and I also provide specialized clinical services to people with chronic pain, Functional Neurological Disorders (FND), and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
If you're prepared to make changes for yourself, we can team up to understand and challenge the unproductive patterns that contribute to your problems. I use evidence-based psychotherapy techniques to facilitate our work together in identifying, understanding, and changing harmful patterns that hold you back or may contribute to your physical symptoms.

Over time, you should feel you are getting stronger, more resilient and have shed layers of fear and anxiety.
I started SoulScape Services as a clinician who felt deeply about being able to make a positive difference in the lives of more people. I wanted to expand my impact by embracing a team of like-minded practitioners. I have chosen a team of therapists dedicated to benefiting the whole of humanity, offering a beacon of light in the darkness.

I do both individual and couple counselling, and specialize in couples. I have extended training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focussed Couple Therapy, and Gottman Method Therapy. I welcome clients dealing with depression, anxiety and difficulty coping with stress in their professional and personal lives.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) goes to the root source of your problem - the thoughts that cause you to feel and act in ways that are counter-productive and harmful to your right to live your best life. I help retrain your thoughts to cultivate healthy skills that last a lifetime.

Through approaches like IFS-informed and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), I help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, prenatal/postpartum mental health, life transitions, self-esteem, burnout, and grief.
Life can be so chaotic. But where do you fit into the mix? Maybe you take on the role of looking after everyone around you, or perhaps you've shut down and don't feel like you can be there for yourself or others like you want to be. If this feels familiar, you're not alone! So many of us feel this way at one time or another, but that just makes it all the more important to address. Addressing these concerns can help you become more functional day-to-day by regulating emotions, shifting thoughts, and processing past experiences.

Most likely, most of the time, your trauma leaves you feeling quite unsafe in your body ( panic attacks, low mood, etc).
My doctorate-level training in the UK (and 15 years of experience) means that I am trained in a variety of therapeutic models. I can tailor-make your treatment at the pace that YOU need. I am able to efficiently balance between being compassionate and challenging you to face (and change) the things that make you feel very scared.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
