You're navigating the in-between, maybe it’s a life transition, a shift in identity, or just the growing pains of figuring out who you are and how to show up in the world. You might be a student, a young adult, or someone who’s always been the “deep thinker” in your circle. You care about your relationships, your future, and your growth, but anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt keep getting in the way. You're not looking for quick fixes, and you want a space to understand yourself more deeply, build confidence, and feel more grounded in your choices, your voice, and your relationships. To get along with others, as you grow!

My ideal clients are people who appear to be functioning well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or emotionally strained on the inside. They may struggle with anxiety, anger, intrusive thoughts, relationship challenges, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to change. Often thoughtful and self-aware, they want more than quick coping strategies. They are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to better understand themselves, develop emotional flexibility, and respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Welcome to Therapy Heals! I recognize that therapy is a process that embraces the willingness to look beyond my lens and hold space for my client's narratives, as experts of their own story. Challenges and issues can be engaged within a container of safety created by compassionate, empathetic therapeutic relationships. I am a firm believer that healing happens in the presence of such a connection. That the work of healing happens through reconciliation and/or through a reparative, restorative, and corrective experience.

You deserve to be happy...and you don't need to struggle alone. Stress, worry, sadness, restlessness, frustration, anger, loss, or loneliness can all feel overwhelming at times...but care, connection, treatment, healing, and empowerment are all within reach. Within psychotherapy... insight, understanding, self-awareness, tools for coping, better functioning, and new ways of relating or behaving are all part of the process of change that you may be hoping for. Whether it be unresolved issues from the past or present circumstances and challenges, a safe, respectful, accepting, patient, and encouraging therapeutic space can be surprisingly rewarding, and make more of a difference than expected.

You deserve not only to feel better, but to wake up every morning ready to enjoy the day. I can’t make that happen for you, but I can be your guide and show you the way to find happiness for yourself.

My therapeutic approach is informed by both my training in psychodynamic therapy and my own experiences with therapy as an adolescent and adult. My belief is that we all have unconscious scenes that we return to throughout our life. Rather than erase these, my goal is to help you find ways to open up, explore, and add colour to these scenes, to come into dialogue with yourself.

You may already understand your patterns. You can explain why you react the way you do, but insight hasn’t changed the cycle. In relationships, anxiety, self-criticism, or habits, the same reactions keep repeating. Therapy can help you work directly with the deeper patterns underneath those cycles. I work primarily from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens. IFS understands the mind as made up of different parts—one that wants to stop drinking, another that reaches for the bottle; one that craves connection, another that shuts people out.

From the outside, your life looks successful. You've built a career, grown a business, led a team, and become someone others rely on. You solve problems, make difficult decisions, and carry responsibilities that few people fully understand. Lately, though, work may be taking more out of you than it used to. You're working longer hours, feeling more exhausted, less patient, and less present with the people you care about. You may feel disconnected, stuck, or as though you've lost touch with yourself somewhere along the way. Success looks good on paper, but it no longer feels the way you expected it would.

Whether it's crept up on you slowly or brought you to a crisis point, a lot of what brings individuals & couples to therapy is the same: a pattern that keeps repeating, and a sense of being stuck in it. That's the heart of what I do — helping you understand the pattern, & then actually do something different with it. I'm Kevin, a Registered Psychotherapist working with individuals & couples online across Ontario. My approach is warm but direct, and relational at its core: we look together at how these cycles took shape, how they once made sense, and at what it takes to create enough emotional safety to begin responding differently.

The healing journey isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being you. While my practice is open to all, I have a deep passion for supporting men in a world that often tells them to "just figure it out" alone. Seeking help isn't a sign of weakness; it’s a courageous commitment to becoming your best self. My "Just Try Therapy" approach removes the pressure to have it all figured out before you start a session. Whether you’re a man looking to rediscover self-love and confidence, or an individual navigating anxiety and emotional "stuckness," I provide a collaborative space to help you stop overthinking and start winning at life again!

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
