You may be carrying anxiety, trauma, burnout, parenting stress, grief, relationship patterns, or the quiet pressure of always holding it together. I offer a safe, down to earth, and non-judgmental space where you do not have to perform or explain everything perfectly. I provide online therapy across Ontario, with in-person sessions available in Ajax, for adults navigating emotional overwhelm, life transitions, trauma, identity, and stress.

You might find yourself constantly second guessing your reactions, your needs, or your decisions. Maybe you feel drained from always being the one who keeps the peace, gives more than you receive, or carries the emotional weight in relationships. Many of the people I work with are trying to understand patterns that keep repeating, especially after emotionally difficult relationships, burnout, addiction, or experiences that have left them questioning their confidence or sense of self.

I also have extensive experience and training in working with clients who are experiencing emotional and narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression and childhood trauma.
Over my 39 years of counselling I most enjoy working with clients who are committed and motivated to ‘do the work’. My expertise is in the areas of anxiety, depression, emotional abuse, Critical Incident Stress & Trauma, PTSD and Complex-PTSD. Most of my clients have priorities that compete with the time they have for self care so I focus on facilitating the achievement of your counselling goals in a patient but progressive pace so you feel better faster. Much like a family doctor I build lasting relationships with my clients who come back for support whenever needed so you don’t have to start all over again every time.

We'll name what gaslighting and narcissistic patterns actually look like, work through the guilt and self-doubt they leave behind, and reconnect you with what you know to be true.
You've started keeping notes, just so you can check your own memory later. You apologise for things you're not even sure you did, and you second-guess what you saw and heard. From the outside the relationship looks fine, which is part of what makes it so hard to explain to anyone. When someone rewrites what happened often enough, you start to lose trust in your own read on things. If you're beginning to wonder whether what you've been living with has a name, you're not imagining it, and you're not too sensitive.

Hey, I know starting therapy can feel super intimidating. The idea of opening up to someone you’ve never met? Yeah, totally nerve-wracking. As a therapist and someone who’s been on the therapy couch myself, I get how overwhelming that first step can be. That’s why I show up as a real person first, no judgment, no clinical coldness, just a space where you can be authentically you.

I also support first responders and women navigating high-conflict relationships, separation, or narcissistic relationship dynamics.
I integrate EMDR, Somatic Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help women heal the effects of chronic stress and trauma. Many clients appear high-functioning but feel overwhelmed or stuck in survival mode. This work supports nervous system healing that talk therapy alone often can’t reach.

I specialize in narcissistic abuse, grief/loss, emotionally focused therapy, attachment trauma, and perfectionism.
We teach people how to treat us. If we don’t know how to love ourselves, to accept ourselves, to be compassionate with ourselves, how can we expect others to? If you struggle with issues such as people pleasing, guilt, shame, having high expectations of yourself but have low expectations of others then you have placed others’ needs over your own. If you have a hard time saying no because you worry that others will not like you or want to spend time with you, then working on boundaries assists you with experiencing clearer expectations of yourself and others. Work towards a healthier you.

Whether you have left or are still finding your way out, healing from narcissistic and emotional abuse is possible.
You keep replaying conversations, trying to work out what you did wrong, even when some part of you knows you did nothing. You walked on eggshells for so long that second-guessing yourself became normal. Maybe the control was quiet: the guilt, the silent treatment, the cold shoulder, the way your version of events kept getting rewritten until you no longer trusted your own memory. From the outside no one could see it, so you started to wonder if you were imagining it. You were not. What happened to you has a name, you are not too sensitive, and here you will be believed.

I always approach my clients in with an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, harm reduction framework. What does that mean? It means that I will always ask "what happened to you?" instead of asking "what's wrong with you?". It also means that I will always respect you as the expert in your own life. Finally, it means that I believe that everyone does their very best to survive and thrive each day–even on the days that we can't see any hope. I am here to be with you, even through the darkest of days, and help you find inspiration and hope within yourself.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
