You’re functioning, but exhausted. Some days you tell yourself you’re fine; other days everything feels heavy. Your patience is thin, your mood is low, and the mental load feels relentless. If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or living with the impact of a difficult or traumatic birth, you may feel disconnected from yourself or guilty for not feeling how you expected. You want relief, clarity, and support that fits your real life — not one more thing to manage.

I use interventions such as CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, inner child work, narrative therapy, relational therapy, and somatic approaches.
You don't need to do the work alone. We live in a world that continues to stigmatize mental health, victim blames survivors of sexual violence, and perpetuates the belief that these issues are not embedded in greater systems and institutions. I create a safer space with non-judgment and curious inquiry. I'm here to meet you where you feel comfortable. Healing and exploring is not a one size fits all, and I'm here to work with you to discover what fits best.

You may feel overly alert, overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected or dysregulated. Or perhaps you feel defeated, doubt yourself (harshly) or experience intense shame, guilt or fear. Maybe you have even been told how self-aware you are but not how this contributes to your difficulties. Self-awareness is deeply important, but it can also be deeply debilitating. I can relate to this! My lived experiences as a queer, late-diagnosed ADHD and autistic (AuDHD) inform my perspective. I know firsthand that differences don't mean there is anything “wrong” with you, but rather that you are navigating a world that wasn't designed for everyone.

How do you move forward when you long to break cycles in your personal or relational life, but can't seem to make it happen? In the face of overwhelming emotions, how do you find your way back to a baseline of ease and alignment with your values? If these questions stir something in you, I’m glad you’re here. I help adults who are feeling emotionally "stuck" to break cycles and heal trauma by befriending your emotions, regulating your nervous system, and tapping into your body's innate wisdom and resources, so that you can shift out of survival mode into a state of enriching connection to yourself and others.

When other therapies haven’t worked for you, I use somatic therapy - to get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck - beyond just talking about it.
Work isn’t just work. It’s where so much of our stress, self-worth, and time lives. Are you feeling anxious about your job, burnt out, stuck after getting fired, or dreading Monday because of your boss or coworkers? With this on top of your personal life, family, relationships - you’re tired of the stress and pressure. You want a fulfilling career that gives you purpose, meaning, and dare-I-say - happiness? Maybe you’ve tried talk therapy before but traditional approaches aren’t working for you. You want something different, something that produces real, lasting change. If this is you, then you’re in the right place!

To support clients in this way, I incorporate somatic or body-based practices and education about the nervous system alongside more traditional talk therapy practices.
We live in a continually growing, fast-paced world where it can be hard to accomplish all that we need in a day, let alone finding time to prioritize our mental well-being or relationships. I work with individuals and families who are seeking to understand themselves better and to deepen feelings of safety and connection within their relationships, but may feel stuck or uncertain about where to start. I believe that each person holds the answers within themselves and through our work together, you will uncover and build on your unique inner resources in order to make meaningful changes in your life.

I work with women who have learned to override their inner voice in order to be everything for everyone else. The women who keep pushing, holding it all together, and making themselves smaller to fit expectations, while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or not quite themselves. Our work will be grounded in an understanding of how stress, social conditioning and lived experiences impact our nervous system, the body, and the subconscious. Together, we gently begin to untangle those patterns, creating space for you to reconnect with your intuition, your needs and your sense of self.

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strength-based, integrating somatic, narrative, and experiential modalities.
If you’re feeling nervous about starting therapy, that’s completely normal, and you’re not alone. Taking this first step takes courage, and it’s okay to have doubts. I want you to know that therapy isn’t about being "fixed" or judged. Instead, think of it as a safe space where you can be exactly who you are with all your struggles and strengths. You don’t need to have all the answers. My goal is to be a compassionate and curious guide as you explore what's on your mind. We'll move at your own pace, and there will never be any pressure to "get it right."

Coming to therapy is an act of strength and courage. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate place for you to explore and heal. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by experiences they can’t always put into words. Together, we slow down and make space for your thoughts, feelings, and patterns, so that what feels confusing or heavy can begin to make sense. My approach is psychodynamic and relational, which means I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful part of healing.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
