Are you looking for relief from anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, panic attacks, phobias, or insomnia?
On the flipside, our thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and our body can also re-inforce each other in a positive way, so that we can send these same patterns on an upward spiral. I have always been curious about the process of creating positive change and transformation, and in helping clients to connect with meaning and purpose in their lives.

I work with adults struggling with a range of concerns including insomnia and sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, fertility concerns, psychosis, substance abuse, relationship problems, and generally navigating the stresses of life.
My therapeutic style is warm and empathic, drive by evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and emotion-focused therapy. Research shows us time and again that the therapeutic relationship is essential to treatment success, so I concentrate on building a strong, nonjudmental, relaxed dynamic with my clients.

I've helped clients sleep better, set boundaries, process past trauma, reduce panic attacks, and regain energy and focus after burnout or major life changes.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, life transitions, and the big, messy questions of identity and meaning. Many of my clients appear high-functioning but are struggling silently. Some are creatives, professionals, caregivers, or deep thinkers; others don’t fit neatly into any box... I offer a free consultation to help you decide if I’m the right fit. Whether you’re ready to begin or just exploring, I’d love to hear from you.

I also regularly work with anxiety, depression, emotional disturbances, OCD related behaviour, addictions, confidence building, family conflict, grief, relationship issues, insomnia and anger management.
Lifeline for the Frontline is a dedicated mental health therapy practice specializing in support for first responders and frontline professionals. Before becoming a therapist, I served as a police officer in the Niagara Region for 10 years and as a child protection worker for 5 years. These experiences give me a unique, lived understanding of frontline culture—so you don’t have to explain the weight of the work or wonder if I “get it.” I do. I treat a variety of symptoms related to mental health, not just specific to first responders. I specialize in treating PTSD & complex trauma related to Occupational Stress Injuries, however,

The lack of sleep is taking it's toll and you're Googling "gentle" sleep consultants hoping more sleep will make a difference, but can't imagine leaving your baby to Cry It Out.
Together we will tackle the "not good enough" thoughts to allow space for your true core self and wisdom to emerge. We will weed out all the noise on Google about how to parent and connect to Your values and Your instincts. We will talk about your child's sleep to quiet the worry that you're creating bad habits and allow you to respond to your child's needs.

I work with professionals, medical residents, graduate, post-graduate and doctoral students by helping them to feel more empowered and less stressed in their high-performance environments. By providing guidance to those facing challenges, I support the process of change during life transitions. Together we explore areas that may be causing symptoms, patterns of behaviour and learn how to accept your own feelings while creating a deeper sense of self. I coach and provide training on how to acquire or improve skills and strategies needed to regulate negative emotions, increase distress tolerance; and minimize and manage triggers.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
