Do you intellectually understand your mental health, but your body and emotions still feel stuck? In traditional talk therapy, the focus is often entirely on the mind. But for those navigating trauma, chronic stress, or stress-induced digestive issues, talking isn't enough. As a process-oriented and somatic psychotherapist, I help you bridge the gap between mind and body. If you are naturally curious about how your nervous system works and open to trying evidence-based techniques that go beyond standard talk therapy, let’s explore what uniquely resonates with you to help you feel meaningfully better.

We don’t always have the words to explain what we’re going through - sometimes overwhelming feelings show up as big emotions, withdrawal, or behaviours that are hard to understand. Whether you notice this in yourself or a loved one, it can feel distressing and leave you unsure how to provide support. With over 15 years of experience, I help kids, teens, and families navigate mental health challenges, emotion regulation, family conflict, and trauma, by developing a shared understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface.

I support women and parents through anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum mood disorders, and birth or reproductive trauma.
You’re functioning, but exhausted. Some days you tell yourself you’re fine; other days everything feels heavy. Your patience is thin, your mood is low, and the mental load feels relentless. If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or living with the impact of a difficult or traumatic birth, you may feel disconnected from yourself or guilty for not feeling how you expected. You want relief, clarity, and support that fits your real life — not one more thing to manage.

We all have our own stories and experiences that contribute to who we are and how we face challenges. Sometimes, we get so lost in the difficulties of the outside world that we forget to take care of our inner self. This can lead to us struggling with things such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity-based oppression, stress management, relationship concerns, immigrant struggles, and life changes. I understand how challenging these difficulties can be, and I am passionate about helping others move from fighting with their feelings to reaching their own inner peace. I also, provide child and play therapy.

I’m Ionatan Stan, a Registered Psychotherapist and holistic counselor. I work with individuals, couples, and children (8+) who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or painful relationship dynamics. Many of the people I support have experienced emotional neglect, abuse, or deep confusion about their place in the world.
I offer a calm, respectful space where nothing needs to be hidden. Together, we take the time to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface — not to fix it quickly, but to relate to it honestly.

I also support parents navigating challenging parenting issues.
Feelings like anxiety or anger don't exist purely as cognitive reactions; instead, your whole body responds which can create a persistent sense of feeling unsafe or on edge. With more than 15 years in social work and 10 years as a yoga and mindfulness instructor, I offer a holistic approach to mental health care that is grounded in processing stress and anxiety through the body to support nervous system regulation.
