You’re probably feeling so alone and hopeless right now. The relationship you once looked to for strength and joy is beginning to feel like a source of pain and disconnection. You feel like you have tried everything that you know to make your relationship better. You’ve tried talking about your issues but somehow always end up spiraling into a fight- leaving you feeling frustrated, disconnected and more hurt each time. You worry about where your relationship is headed if something doesn’t change. I want you to know you are in the right place. You can transform your disconnection and negative communication patterns into connection.

My name is Marly, and I work with individuals navigating stress and anxiety in their relationships. Maybe communication feels harder than it should, or you’ve noticed a loss of closeness, intimacy, or desire. You might struggle with low desire, mismatched desire, or sexual concerns like performance, arousal, or satisfaction. Past hurt, trust issues, or unresolved conflicts can linger and make it difficult to feel fully present with a partner. Stress, anxiety, or shame may get in the way of feeling connected or confident. Therapy is a space to sort through these struggles and create change that feels real and lasting.

Accepting New Clients: In-Person & Phone/Video. We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We have helped individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. We do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

I support adults with ADHD who want to lead meaningful, fulfilling lives. Adult ADHD can cause challenges with scheduling, time management, organization, relationships, and emotions. People can feel consistently behind, disorganized, overwhelmed, and easily frustrated. I help clients figure out what goals are most important to them, and we work together to organize the chaos so there is more time, energy, and patience for the things that really matter. You do not need an official ADHD diagnosis to work with me.

Medication Management Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to manage medications?
One of the most effective ways a patient can manage their medications is to keep a list of each drug and dosage they take. Such a list can be helpful in keeping to their schedule and can also be something they bring to their psychiatrist or other physician so that the healthcare provider has a clear picture of what they’re taking and in what quantity. Using a pill organiser can be useful for memory and organisation. Patients should discuss their medications and their effects at every appointment.

What are the risks if medications are not managed properly?
A suboptimal approach to medication management can lead to potentially harmful health outcomes. Most psychiatric drugs have side effects, and if a patient is not aware of them, they may seek additional medical help or over the counter or prescription drugs to treat the side effects, which may have its own side effects, a process called “prescription cascade.” Another risk to disorganisation is that a psychiatrist without full knowledge of a patient’s regimen could prescribe a medication that should not be mixed with a patient’s existing drugs.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to get help managing their medications?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing medication management as a tool for improving their life and avoiding dangerous side effects. Offering specific examples of an individual’s failure to properly manage their medication regimen should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to break management down into parts, and there are several apps that can be used to organize which drugs are ingested, when they need to be refilled, and how they should be stored.

Are there natural treatments that can replace medications?
While there are many medications that can be vital to mental health, there are some natural lifestyle changes that can help reduce the need for drugs. Regular exercise, good sleep habits, a healthy diet, and therapy can all go a long way in symptom relief. Psychiatric medications typically treat symptoms but do not necessarily treat the cause of the condition. Many clinicians consider medications an adjunct to treatment rather than a treatment in and of itself.
