My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out. Therapy with me is collaborative and practical — we’ll explore patterns that keep you stuck while also building tools you can use in daily life. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, attachment-focused work, and DBT, but I tailor therapy to you, not a one-size-fits-all method. I have significant expertise successfully treating OCD symptoms through Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. I am also specialized in the treatment of various anxiety disorders and phobias.

I can support you through anxiety, depression, ADHD/autism, life transitions, and identity concerns. My ideal client enjoys a conversational style, lots of questions, and can appreciate a good metaphor. I specialize in solving problems by enhancing your existing strengths and skills (and helping you realize them!) and by digging deeper to help those "self-aware" clients figure out why they're struggling to break patterns they know are unhelpful. I'm a queer person and intentional single parent. I am here to offer an affirming, safe, and welcoming space that you can fully be yourself in. Reach out to develop a self-led path forward.

Welcome! I'm Megan, and I'm glad you're here. I’m passionate about supporting people in healing, growth, and building lives that feel meaningful and aligned. I work with folks from all walks of life, and I most often support 2SLGBTQ+ individuals who are questioning, exploring, considering coming out, and/or transitioning. My clients may feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure of their next steps. They might carry internalized shame, fear of rejection, family or cultural pressure, or the weight of navigating a world that doesn’t always feel safe. They often seek clarity, relief, and confidence to move forward.

You deserve a therapist who will listen and hold space for you as you share your story. Someone who will meet you where you’re at with empathy, understanding, and compassion. I believe healing is not done in isolation but comes through a sense of belonging and connection. As a neurodivergent queer and trans person from a rural community I faced many barriers when trying to access mental healthcare so I decided to become a therapist to support others. I strive for collective liberation and try to build community through play and creativity. I work to remain aware of my white-settler privilege and be anti-oppressive and anti-racist.

You are the person your friends and family come to with their problems as you appear to have it all together. You are a high achiever who like to get things done. You've been described as industrious, passionate, serious, and intense. You are holding so much for everyone else, but you feel overwhelmed. Below this confident exterior, anxiety brews. You are a deeply feeling person and yet sometimes feel unseen. Your inner critic can be loud and it often tells you that your worth is in your achievements. I am here to help you discover why you feel this way, to hold space, and to explore the inner workings of your multi-layered self.

I'm a queer, neurodivergent human with a passion for community and solidarity. I work with folks who are struggling with identity, trauma, self-esteem, and coping with the state of the world right now. I think capitalism sucks, and the world is a scary place lately, and I want to find as much joy and purpose and meaning as I can despite that.

Each person carries an authentic Self that may become obscured but is never truly lost. As an integrative and holistic practitioner, I work to create space where you can listen more closely to your own thoughts, emotions, body, values, and inner wisdom so that you can begin living in greater alignment with who you are. This process is not about striving for perfection or finding quick answers. It is about cultivating curiosity, self-compassion, and the courage to grow. It is about reclaiming the parts of yourself that have been silenced, overlooked, or forgotten, and integrating them into a life that feels more whole and meaningful.

Are you struggling with perfectionism, overwhelmed with the day-to-day, or needing support with your relationships? Whatever you are dealing with right now, you are not alone, and I will offer you the space to share your story with empathy and respect. It's exhausting to feel stuck in negative thought loops or to feel stress impact the connections you value the most. You may know exactly what needs to change, but feel lost in how to get there.

You know that feeling of being "stuck"... stuck in the cycles you repeat in your relationship, career, and life. The problem is, you've tried again and again to change things, and it's not working. Your connection to your partner, maybe your kids, and to yourself continue to struggle. I've been there. The first important way to move forward is to imagine life when these problems are gone. The good news is that whether you are completely ready to dive in, you're coming to the right place.

Hello! My name is Tess MacIsaac and I primarily work with 2SLGBTQ+ communities as well as adult survivors of family violence. In this work I have found that the daily stressors folks face are often heavily impacted by oppression — e.g. capitalism, racism, cis-heteropatriarchy, ableism and colonialism. I am committed to co-creating a space where these areas can be explored.

You may appear capable, accomplished, and “high-functioning” to others while privately carrying chronic anxiety, self-pressure, emotional exhaustion, or a relentless inner critic. Many people become skilled at masking distress, staying productive, and prioritizing others’ needs while feeling increasingly disconnected from themselves underneath it all. I understand the exhaustion of constantly managing and compensating. My relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approach focuses on exploring the deeper emotional patterns, attachment experiences, and coping strategies shaping how you relate to yourself and others.

Life rarely goes according to plan, and in our most difficult times, many of us have not had the support and tools needed to navigate losses, transitions, and traumas. My role is to help you find your way through hardship, while expanding your capacity to meet challenges from a place of resilience and acceptance. Your struggles are not due to your own inadequacy; rather, I believe all behaviour makes sense on some level, when viewed from the right perspective. I work from a holistic stance that accounts for the individual, cultural, and societal factors affecting each of us uniquely, and therefore requires a personalized approach.

What is lesbian-affirming therapy?
Lesbian-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client's lesbian identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual's sexual orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of lesbian women. This support is especially important, as research shows that lesbian individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges compared to heterosexual populations. Lesbian-affirming therapy acknowledges that lesbian individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as coming out challenges, family rejection, workplace discrimination, and minority stress—that require specialised understanding and intervention. Lesbian-affirming therapists often work with clients across all age groups, from adolescents navigating their emerging identity to adults and older individuals addressing life transitions and relationship concerns. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for lesbian partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship. It is important to note that therapists provide talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

Why should I see a lesbian therapist?
Some clients prefer to work with lesbian therapists who may bring personal lived experience to the therapeutic relationship. Choosing to work with a lesbian therapist can offer a deeper sense of connection, comfort, and shared understanding. A therapist who identifies as lesbian may require clients to give less background explanation—whether it’s about navigating romantic relationships, feeling unseen in certain spaces, or processing the impact of past relationship challenges. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. Additionally, many lesbian-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organisations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection.

How do I find a lesbian therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding lesbian-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialise in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit. Look for profiles where therapists explicitly mention working with lesbian clients, or where they describe their approach as identity-affirming, inclusive, or trauma-informed. Many providers will also list their own identities, which may help you find someone with shared lived experience if that is important to you. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
