Sliding scale spots are currently available for individual therapy clients only (not applicable to couples or family therapy).
You love each other, but it’s getting harder to stay connected. Maybe you're dealing with resentment that no one talks about, miscommunications that turn into arguments, or silence that feels heavier than words. Add the complexity of chronic illness & it can feel like you're in survival mode. Managing symptoms, appointments, & emotions while your relationship quietly starts to fade into the background. You’re not just navigating daily stress. You’re trying to maintain intimacy, balance caregiving roles, and figure out how to be a partner when one or both of you feel depleted. Maybe you’re grieving the relationship you used to have.

Are intense emotions, anger, or relationship conflict leaving you feeling overwhelmed or out of control? Do patterns connected to personality dynamics, bipolar disorder, trauma, or CPTSD create instability in your mood, identity, or relationships? You may struggle with reactivity, fear of abandonment, trust issues, or cycles of conflict and withdrawal. Major life transitions or past trauma may feel unresolved and continue to shape your present. Together, we work to understand these patterns at their root, strengthen emotional regulation, and build more stable, secure, and fulfilling relationships.

My work is trauma-informed and grounded in a family systems lens, recognizing how relationships, past experiences, and broader contexts shape our inner worlds.
Therapy can hold moments of relief, clarity, connection, and growth, even alongside life’s difficult experiences. I work with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain as they navigate grief, loss, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or questions of identity, meaning, and spirituality. At the heart of therapy is the relationship we build together - a compassionate and collaborative space where we can gently explore your inner world, honour your experiences, and reconnect with your inner resources for healing, resilience, and change.

I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, or trauma related to past or present family dynamics.
When we feel overwhelmed by our thoughts and emotions, it can seem like there’s no end in sight. We can become consumed by conflicting parts of ourselves: one part desperately longing for change, while another feels terrified of what that change might mean. This ongoing tension can make decisions feel heavy, and when things don’t unfold the way we hoped, the feelings of regret or shame digs deeper. You may be carrying pain from the past that continues to surface, leaving you chronically exhausted and unsure of how to deal with it. You may be surrounded by many people, but feel completely isolated and alone.

People encounter problems in their lives and come into relationship with them. Sometimes problems stay around longer than people would like - sometimes even long enough that they start to see themselves as the problem. My approach follows the narrative therapy practice of externalizing and examining problems so that we can reveal their histories, their impacts, and also the ways you have resisted their unwanted influence on your life. This approach focuses on the active role you play in pursuing the life that you want, as well as the people and things that support you in that pursuit.

I also support family members (parents, partners) in navigating the challenges of having a loved one with complex mental health concerns (emotion dysregulation, Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma).
Sometimes life feels challenging and hard, and we feel like we lose ourselves a little along the way. This is when it’s most helpful to slow down, take a deep breath, and consider support to feel less alone and figure out next steps. I am focused on helping individuals learn and apply new skills and strategies to make impactful shifts that lead to meaningful change in themselves and in relationships with loved ones. I provide a non-judgmental space so clients can feel safe to openly share their thoughts, emotions and experiences. I specialize in supporting individuals with life transitions, women’s issues and caregiver support.

FAQ - About Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
