Often, this can show up as difficulties in interpersonal relationships - either being attracted to the wrong people or having a hard time finding fulfillment in your existing relationships
As a highly sensitive person myself, I truly understand the struggles of simply existing in today's fast-paced, hustle culture. My specialties are helping others to process big emotions like anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation/focus, self-worth, people-pleasing, self-confidence, imposter syndrome, and boundaries in individuals and couples

I work with clients suffering from trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship challenges, Life transitions
Does something inside you feel tired, lost, and longing for change? Maybe you are carrying pain, hurt, or a loss of self that feels too heavy to keep holding. Starting therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t need to have all the answers. We begin with what’s real for you, right now, and move gently from there.

Many of my clients feel stuck in life transitions, uncertain about identity, career, or relationships.
You are constantly walking on eggshells. Always on high alert, your highly sensitive brain is always scanning other people's expressions to make sure everything is okay. You over-apologize, over-explain, over-share or disconnect and push your emotions deep down. You feel different - too emotional, too “much”. A sense of loneliness and longing for something you can’t describe looms in the background of everything you do. No matter what you try the feeling that there’s “something wrong with you” just won’t let up. You try to feel better - you have journaled, meditated, tried therapy, medication, breathwork…but nothing helps for long

Since 2009 I have had extensive training working in the mental health system with adults and families who have experienced trauma, anxiety/depression, addiction/substance issues, family/ relationship issues, and other stressors in life.
Have you ever felt stuck? Do you ever think therapy is just not for me or think to yourself, is it worth it? Well, believe me, it is. One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. My belief is that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgement.

Are you tired of feeling controlled by negative thoughts and emotions? Do you struggle with addiction or self-destructive behaviours? Did you experience a difficult childhood or trauma(s) in life? If so, you are not alone. Studies show you are more likely to develop addiction due to childhood trauma's impact on brain development- particularly in the regions related to emotional regulation, impulse control, and reward processing. Trauma can lead to ADHD, PTSD, and maladaptive coping mechanisms- such as substance use to manage emotions and memories. This is survival mode, not dysfunction. No one wants to feel pain, and there is help.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
