My lived experiences as a queer, late-diagnosed ADHD and autistic ( AuDHD) inform my perspective.
I’m a person-centered, integrative therapist with a focus on trauma and relational experiences. I work with a broad range of clients, and have a special interest in supporting LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent individuals with their unique challenges. I recognize the impacts trauma and systemic factors have on your experiences, well-being and identity.

I am a member of the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA) and an ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider ( ADHD-CCSP)
I believe therapy allows people to share their stories and feel their emotions in an environment that is safe and considers their unique needs. I strive to validate people’s emotions (because they are understandable), to highlight their strengths (because sometimes people can’t see them) and to build hope (because it can be restored).

I work with clients who may be struggling with ADHD/ASD, anxiety, depression, relationship troubles or family conflict, parenting concerns, trauma and life transitions.
Accepting New Clients - You deserve a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with yourself. I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, family conflict, trauma, exploring identity, parenting, self criticism and the emotional patterns that make life feel heavier than it needs to be. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or "stuck" in cycles they can't quite name. Whether you're trying to repair communication, make sense of past experiences, or feel more grounded in your daily life, you don't have to figure it out alone.

I work with teens and adults struggling with burnout and ADHD.
Accepting clients this week! Hi I'm Sam! Let me guess... you're exhausted, but your brain won't stop. The to-do list keeps growing, deadlines slip by, and no matter how hard you try, you can't seem to catch up. Eventually, you hit a wall, and pushing through just doesn't work anymore.

Life changes hit you fast, and suddenly you’re overthinking everything - your choices, your body, your relationships, your worth. Anxiety shows up as knots in your stomach, racing thoughts, or that constant pressure to keep everyone happy. You’re tired of saying yes when you mean no, exhausted from trying to look “fine,” and stuck between who you’ve been and who you want to be. You want steadiness, confidence, and a life that doesn’t run on stress and self-doubt. Something in you knows you can’t keep doing it this way. You’re ready for change. Let's work towards that change together.

Having ADHD and chronic illnesses myself, I know how hard it can be to live in a world that was built for brains and/or bodies that don’t match your own, all while often being told you aren’t doing “enough” or are "too much".
If you struggle with brain fog, procrastination, time blindness, or impulsivity, it can feel impossible to get everything done. These challenges with executive function are very common for ADHDers, and lead to anxiety, shame, guilt, and burnout. Worse, there isn't a lot of understanding out there, which leads many of us to try a lot of strategies that don't work for neurodivergent folks. Navigating our capitalistic society is also incredibly difficult when your physical health fluctuates. Pain, fatigue, and changes to mobility all come with huge changes to our daily lives. Figuring out how to move forward can be overwhelming.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
