Most people who come to me are struggling with challenges that fall into one of four main categories: 1) anxiety, and other struggles with emotional regulation, 2) relationship difficulties, with family, friends, stress, work, nature, society, spirituality, and oneself, 3) direction, related to life purpose or career, and 4) depression, and grief-related challenges. I work with adult individuals (16 and up) and couples seeking guidance, support, and tools to help navigate life struggles with more self-awareness and agency. I also offer clinical supervision, and have practicum students working under my supervision at a reduced rate.

If working through life's challenges feels more overwhelming than staying stuck in your current situation, I would like to have the opportunity to help you navigate your way to a life worth living. Often negative thinking patterns and behaviours can influence our sense of self and impact on our family, work and school life. My goal in art psychotherapy is to assist you in discovering your potential while finding your internal voice. A client centered, anti-oppressive approach provides a safe and confidential environment to explore what matters most to you.

One million Canadian men suffer from major depressive disorder each year. Three of every four completed suicides in Canada are by men. The prevalence of alcohol use disorder is twice as high in men with another mental health diagnosis than in the general population. One third of Canadian men worry that talking about mental health at work could put their job at risk. Men are just as likely as women to have mental health issues yet are far less likely to utilize traditional mental health services. Men are more likely to believe that mental health services are difficult to access, ineffective and invasive. At Cogent, Ontario’s new mental health clinic focussed solely on supporting men, we’re changing that.

Healing doesn’t have to feel cold, clinical, or overwhelming. I work with individuals who feel stuck in relationships, weighed down by old emotional patterns, or impacted by unresolved trauma or grief. Many clients come to me carrying wounds from their family of origin or feeling overwhelmed in the present. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion. Together, we gently explore the beliefs and patterns that once protected you but may now be limiting you. I am a Grief-Certified Facilitator and support clients through both visible and hidden grief. Do you feel the pressure to be perfect? Pushing yourself to perform or stay in control? Whether you’re navigating the impact of trauma, struggling with your relationship with food or your body, or feeling the weight of performance in sport or other areas of life, you may find yourself caught in patterns that feel exhausting, rigid, or hard to step away from. Over time, these patterns can disconnect you from your needs, your sense of self, and the parts of life that once felt meaningful or enjoyable. If this resonates, you don’t have to navigate it on your own.

I’m passionate about working with women who are navigating the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to juggle the demands of motherhood, relationships, and self-identity. The challenges of this life transition can be unexpected, creating feelings of anxiety, sadness, self-criticism, guilt, loneliness and resentment. It's easy to feel like you are not doing enough in a society that has constant parenting advice and impossible expectations. If you are feeling the weight of all of this, you deserve a space to process and make sense of it all.

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own body, and I am honoured to support people as they process their experiences and find that safety. My background as a crisis counsellor and sex educator makes me confident to work with people struggling with their sexuality, gender identity, body image, sexual trauma, and finding self worth and confidence within themselves. I also have a key interest to work with teenagers and young adults experiencing these struggles.

I teach folks how to walk alongside, rather than against their trauma. My areas of expertise include; developmental and complex trauma, PTSD, ADHD, Autism, Non-monogamy, Kink and Sexuality, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Religious Trauma, Anti-capitalism and Eco/Social/Political anxiety. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field which began with a deep supporting youth in foster care, inspired by my own experiences as a foster child. I aim to support people in understanding how their trauma impacts how they move through the world and form connections.

I work with children and adolescents struggling with trauma or regulation-based concerns, and their families. Trauma-informed care strives to create physical, psychological, and emotional safety for individuals with every contact. Trauma-informed care moves away from a "what's wrong with you" perspective and seeks to determine "what's happened" and how best we can move forward collaboratively in a safe, strengths-based way.
