Currently open to new clients! I often work with people have been experiencing long-term emotional pain and mental health issues. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by fears that don't always make sense, caught between wanting closeness and needing distance in your relationships, or struggling to align your behaviours with your values. Many of the people I work with carry a deep sense of shame and loneliness. These struggles are often rooted in early relationships and repeated experiences of not feeling seen, understood, or safe. I prioritize moving at a pace that honours safety, consent, and your nervous system.

I am looking for clients who are ready to explore what their voice feels like when they are heard and when they are not. Oftentimes, we do not know what our voice feels like when we have desires. I want to give you the space to explore.

Are you trying to keep up with the demands of life, but keep falling short? Mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and mood disorders can take over in a way that feels out of our control. Many people say they don’t know where to start or how to make meaningful change. I've seen first hand how therapy can support you in taking back control and making change. I support people experiencing issues related to mood disorders, anxiety, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about working with individuals who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, whether it’s a new diagnosis or working through rough patches.

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns they understand but still struggle to change. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who feel emotionally numb, reactive, or frustrated in their relationships. My work is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and collaborative. Therapy is a space to slow things down and understand how past experiences shape the ways you cope, relate, and respond today. We focus on building insight with compassion, so change feels possible rather than overwhelming. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels grounded, safe, and non-judgmental.

I work using both somatic (body) as well as talk therapies (psycho dynamic). I find this combination to be more profound than just one modality. I bring extensive experience with mental illness and trauma. Like most therapists, I have several areas of practice in which I feel distinctly equipped to work. These include anxiety, depression, recovery from interpersonal trauma/ abuse, neglect, communication issues (for e.g. bosses, friends, partners. family members) stress of everyday life, grief, couple issues, childhood attachment issues, PTSD and dissociative disorders.

Did you wake up today and think to yourself, "something isn't right" or "I can't go on like this"? If you are struggling with your substance use and you're feeling like you are no longer in control, it might be time to consider change. Maybe you are tired of hiding your drinking as a way to cope with your mood. Maybe you have noticed that while getting high works in the moment to help manage your nerves, you are actually more anxious now than you have ever been. Change is scary, but may be necessary for you to reach your full potential.

Personality Disorders Counsellors
What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?
Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.

When to seek treatment for personality disorders?
Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.

How long does therapy take for personality disorders?
The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specialises in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.

Can therapy help people with personality disorders?
Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
