I work with individuals seeking guidance, emotional support, mental clarity, harmony in mind and body. Whether experiencing relationship conflict, stress, grief, trauma or seeking new perspectives and fresh solutions on your life journey, the essence of my approach is to provide a safe, supportive base where you can explore, understand, and heal issues causing discomfort and imbalance in your life. Physical limitations, social discomfort, and the challenge of living in a fast-paced changing world all contribute to "dis-ease" in the body/mind. This can present itself in the form of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, insomnia, eating disorders, addiction and more.

Life can be overwhelming and it can be difficult to find meaning in who we are over who we are told we should be. No matter the issue, be it addressing major life changes, grief, sexuality, gender, building meaningful relationships and setting boundaries, or the stress of day-to-day living, having someone to help guide you on that journey can be helpful. There are societal benchmarks we are made to believe we must conform to and anyone who falls outside of that structure can be othered or alienated simply for being themselves, I am here to help you and/your partner(s) makes sense of that journey in whatever way is best for you.

My journey to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Having managed anxiety and OCD since childhood, I understand how isolating the cycle of obsessive thoughts and anxious feelings can be. This experience, combined with my background as an elementary school teacher, solidified my belief in the power of a patient and compassionate presence. I bring that same thoughtfulness, creativity, and non-judgmental support into our sessions, creating a space where you can feel truly heard.

Seeking therapy is a step towards self-awareness and healing. Recognizing we could benefit from a safe, unbiased space to unpack emotions, experiences, and thoughts, is a courageous and empowering decision. The differences between our rational and emotional brain can make us feel disconnected, and recognizing our internal dualities can be helpful. An equally empowering and healing experience is reconnecting with our inner child, which may be a wounded part of who we are. I look forward to supporting you by developing awareness and challenging self-destructive patterns. The easiest way to book an appointment is through our website.

No matter who we are, or how far we’ve traveled in this world, there are times when we all feel stuck. During these difficult stretches, we may feel disconnected from the world around us, and from ourselves. This can lead to a sense that we are undeserving of relief or that meaningful change is out of reach. And yet, somehow we find a way to persevere, and we take the brave step of seeking out care and understanding.

What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
