Having worked in a demanding corporate career for a decade prior to becoming a therapist, I specialize in helping type A anxious women tame their intellectualizing, overthinking brains.
You're smart, successful, driven - but you're stuck. On the outside nobody would guess it, but on the inside you feel torn apart. Your anxiety is relentless, your inner critic berates your every word, you can never get caught up on your to-do list, and no matter how much praise you get - you simply don't believe it. You wonder if you have anxiety, or maybe it's ADHD, or maybe even depression or past trauma. You definitely know you can't relax, it's hard to even stay still. You've read the self-help books, tried meditation, mental health walks, journaling...You know at the core you need to "love yourself", but truly don't know how.

My specialties include: trauma and PTSD, grief, anger management, sexual addiction, porn addiction, anxiety, ADHD, career guidance, addiction, substance use, infidelity, depression, coping skills, sexual abuse, chronic pain, and life transitions.
Stuck? Lost? Broken? Disconnected? Powerless? Hopeless? Many men wait too long to seek help for the challenges they face. You may not feel safe talking with others, particularly if you have experienced trauma, abuse, anxiety, addition, grief, or shame. Often, even those they are closest to you may understand or know the depth of your pain. You may feel that you are burdening others with your problems, and may have tried to solve your issues on your own, often leading deeper struggles and, at times, greater loss and pain. Tired of suffering? Book a free 20-minute consultation. No waitlist. Get started with a free consultation today.

We live in a world that demands more and more from us each day. If you'd like to take a break, I invite you to join me in slowing down and being curious about an often unexplored side of ourselves. Socrates is quoted as saying "know thyself, for once we know ourselves, we may learn how to care for ourselves." My goal is to empower you to discover more about who you are so that you can make decisions consistent with the person you truly are, and be of better service to yourself and those around you.

Career Guidance Counsellors

How do I know if I need career counselling?

Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?

The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?

Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
