My primary area of focus is trauma and PTSD.
It is not unusual to feel overwhelmed by life at times. Sometimes we simply do not have the tools to cope effectively. That is where I hope to make a difference for you. As a therapist my role is to support you without judgement, meet you where you are at, and respond to you with empathy. I will help you challenge thoughts and beliefs, identify unhealthy patterns and examine differing perspectives. Together we will start to uncover emotions, thoughts and behaviors together that may be keeping you feeling "stuck". I hope to support you in making decisions that will shift your relationship with yourself and others.

I specialize in helping survivors of trauma—including narcissistic abuse and complex PTSD—build mind-body connection, calm their nervous systems, gain new skills, and heal old wounds.
Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, shame, or self-doubt? Have painful experiences or toxic relationships left you stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-blame? Is your inner critic louder than your own voice, leaving you exhausted from holding it all together? If you’ve tried therapy before and felt reduced to a checklist of symptoms, my work is different. I see your patterns as survival strategies that once kept you safe—even if they hold you back now. Therapy is a space to slow down, feel truly heard, and make sense of the experiences that shaped you so you can move toward a life that feels fulfilling.

I work with women facing anxiety, trauma, self-esteem struggles, and life's big transitions.
Are you at the point where you have realized "this just isn’t working anymore?" You’re doing everything “right,” but you still feel anxious, overwhelmed, and honestly a little lost. You keep it together on the outside, but inside it’s a different story. You’re tired of overthinking, carrying so much on your own, and pretending you’re okay. Maybe you’ve been through things you don’t talk about, but they still show up in your day-to-day. If you’ve been holding it together for everyone else while quietly falling apart on the inside you’re NOT alone. I help women like you feel seen, understood, and a little less overwhelmed by it all.

I specialize in trauma therapy and substance use counselling, offering support for those who are navigating the effects of past trauma or struggling with substance use.
Therapy for people who are tired of pretending they're "fine!" You don’t need to have it all figured out to be here. If you’re navigating life experiences that have left you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode - welcome. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside and quietly exhausted on the inside. Therapy doesn’t require the right words, a clear plan, or knowing where to start. You can show up guarded, unsure, skeptical, hopeful, or all of the above. Come as you are.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
