Sleep may be off, they may feel more reactive, depleted, stuck, or not quite like themselves.
My approach is both relational and practical. In CBT-I, we work directly with sleep difficulties using structured, evidence-informed strategies. In psychotherapy, we focus on emotional steadiness, patterns of stress, and day-to-day functioning. In both, the work is paced, collaborative, and grounded in your strengths, not just symptom management.

I believe that clients deserve to be heard and understood as individuals, and that treatment should be flexibly tailored to meet their needs and goals. Rather than adopting a “one size fits all” approach to therapy, clients who choose to work with me will find that I create a highly collaborative therapeutic environment where they can learn customized strategies for addressing life's challenges, promoting personal growth, and enhancing well-being. I enjoy working with adults, couples and adolescents looking for guidance and support with their goals.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, or quietly struggling, you do not have to go through it alone. I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what you are carrying. Many people I work with come to therapy because they are exhausted from holding their worries in silence. They may be dealing with constant anxiety, unshakable stress, repeating relationship patterns, or a growing sense of losing themselves. Others reach out during major transitions like career shifts, breakups, moves, or academic pressure.

My ideal client is someone who feels stuck—struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, unresolved trauma, addiction, or family conflict—and is ready to do the deep, sometimes uncomfortable work of healing. They may feel overwhelmed or lost, but they hold a quiet hope that life can be different. They’re seeking more than symptom relief; they want to understand themselves, break old patterns, and learn how to live with intention and meaning. With compassion, authenticity, and the insight that comes from both professional and lived experience, I help guide clients toward a more grounded, empowered, and fulfilling life.

An important part of healing is understanding the connection between mind and body and how it relates to experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma. A fundamental component of recognizing your needs is to create an awareness of emotions. Our bodies signal us when there is discord, and through an experiential process, I focus on helping individuals make sense of their world. My work focuses on coping with difficult body sensations while also helping you begin to think and feel differently about your experiences, your emotions and ultimately yourself.

It is not unusual to feel overwhelmed by life at times. Sometimes we simply do not have the tools to cope effectively. That is where I hope to make a difference for you. As a therapist my role is to support you without judgement, meet you where you are at, and respond to you with empathy. I will help you challenge thoughts and beliefs, identify unhealthy patterns and examine differing perspectives. Together we will start to uncover emotions, thoughts and behaviors together that may be keeping you feeling "stuck". I hope to support you in making decisions that will shift your relationship with yourself and others.

You may feel stuck in a relationship or marriage where conversations turn into conflict or silence. With your partner, you might repeat the same arguments, feel misunderstood, or disconnected. Alongside this, anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm may affect work, school, or family life. You want clarity, calm, and a healthier way to communicate. Your goal is to feel more grounded, strengthen your relationship, improve couples dynamics, and build a life that reflects your values rather than constant pressure or frustration.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
