One million Canadian men suffer from major depressive disorder each year. Three of every four completed suicides in Canada are by men. The prevalence of alcohol use disorder is twice as high in men with another mental health diagnosis than in the general population. One third of Canadian men worry that talking about mental health at work could put their job at risk. Men are just as likely as women to have mental health issues yet are far less likely to utilize traditional mental health services. Men are more likely to believe that mental health services are difficult to access, ineffective and invasive. At Cogent, Ontario’s new mental health clinic focussed solely on supporting men, we’re changing that.

We are a diverse team of over 90 licensed and experienced therapists! We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We help individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed or maybe like something just doesn't feel quite right? Are you tired of overthinking, old patterns, or feeling like life is exhausting? If any of that sounds familiar, you may be in the right place.
I help individuals and couples navigate anxiety and depression, trauma, relationships, identity, and the kind of life transitions that make it feel like everything is falling apart. With couples, I'm interested in understanding what's underneath the conflict; unmet needs, old wounds, the ways two people can genuinely love each other and still feel unable to connect.

Do you feel stuck in a trauma response - endlessly scrolling, zoning out, overthinking every conversation you had today? Maybe you’re a chronic people-pleaser, raised by emotionally unavailable parents, now trapped in patterns of self-abandonment and emotional dysregulation. You’re hyper-aware of everyone’s feelings but disconnected from your own. Your nervous system is activated into fight, flight, freeze... fawn. You know the psychology, but the patterns won’t budge. So you numb out with TikTok, Netflix, wine, or weed - anything to escape the overwhelm. You’re exhausted from trying to reparent yourself while still surviving.

As someone diagnosed with ADHD and Level 1 Autism, I work with neurodivergent individuals, as well as those navigating BPD, bipolar disorder, depression, and other mood-related challenges. I know firsthand how exhausting and isolating it can be to live with an invisible struggle. Therapy isn’t just about coping, it’s about learning to live authentically, with less shame and more clarity. That’s the space I aim to create for my clients: a place where you don’t have to mask or justify your feelings.

⁕ Sept 8 - Are you the mom who schedules the dentist appointments, signs the school trip form, makes the lunches, runs the work meeting - but can't find 5 minutes a day for selfcare? You know youre running on adrenaline, and you always have been, but lately it's feeling unsustainable. Maybe you asked a friend about ADHD once and she brushed it off; saying "everybody is a little ADHD". Now you are awake at 2am with a mind that will not stop, googling whether it is perimenopause, burnout, anxiety, or something you've had your whole life? You are determined to break your generational traumas, but somehow you forgot to take care of YOU.
