I am a registered Clinical Psychologist (Ontario) who specializes in working with children, teens, parents, and families. My approach in working with clients is to provide a supportive and caring relationship within which they can explore and address issues meaningful to them, identify their psychological needs, and expand on their strengths to meet these needs. In my work with children and teens, whatever the issue we are addressing, I encourage the development of skills in self-reflection and effective communication to promote the capacity for positive engagement and healthy relations (e.g., family, peers), which are cornerstones of psychological well-being.

My areas of therapeutic interest involve Trauma-Informed and Attachment-Focused psychotherapy. I am available to work with teens (16+), and adults who are managing grief and loss, anxiety, stress, depression, and life transitions. I achieved an undergraduate degree in History and Literature and work well with "creatives" who find themselves leaning into a greater awareness of themselves and are reflecting on their lives, searching for meaning and ways of naming where they are now. I am conscious of holding space for folks as they process and unpack their experiences, incorporating a stance of curiosity and non-judgment.

You may be feeling overwhelmed with feelings and thoughts you can't describe and are finding it hard to cope. Or, you may be a parent who wants to support your child/teen who is struggling with his/her emotions. Sometimes, it is hard to describe experiences that you, yourself, may difficult to understand. You may feel alone in your experience and fear that no one will be able to relate. It's exhausting. Or, as a parent, you may be noticing changes in your child/teen that are concerning and it is hard to see him/her struggling.

If you’re exhausted by constant pressure, perfectionism, or old wounds that still show up in new ways, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to carry it alone. I will work with you to address some of the complex stressors and emotions that can take a toll on daily life. My approach is warm, inviting and collaborative. I create a space where you can slow down, speak freely, and begin to untangle what’s weighing on you. Together, we’ll work toward understanding the patterns that no longer serve you and develop tools to help you feel your best.

I work with teens (14+) and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or affected by experiences that continue to influence how they think, feel, and relate to others. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood challenges, perfectionism, motivation struggles, grief, ADHD, and the ongoing effects of trauma. A meaningful part of my work involves supporting individuals impacted by interpersonal violence, relational and developmental trauma, childhood and adult trauma, sexual abuse, systemic oppression, and substance use. One million Canadian men suffer from major depressive disorder each year. Three of every four completed suicides in Canada are by men. The prevalence of alcohol use disorder is twice as high in men with another mental health diagnosis than in the general population. One third of Canadian men worry that talking about mental health at work could put their job at risk. Men are just as likely as women to have mental health issues yet are far less likely to utilize traditional mental health services. Men are more likely to believe that mental health services are difficult to access, ineffective and invasive. At Cogent, Ontario’s new mental health clinic focussed solely on supporting men, we’re changing that.
