I primarily specialize in treating trauma and childhood trauma.
If life feels like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without instructions... and you’ve already sworn at a wooden dowel twice, you’re in the right place. A lot of people who find me feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck in patterns that make them wonder, “Why am I like this?” Meanwhile their brain is running 47 tabs, one is frozen, one is buffering, and one is blasting music even though they swear everything’s muted. Whether you’re coming in solo or as a couple, you don’t need to arrive polished or emotionally articulate. If you can show up, we can work with it.

In our work together, we’ll explore what’s been holding you back, whether it’s the impact of trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, identity questions, or life transitions.
When life feels heavy, uncertain, or disconnected from the person you want to be, therapy can help you find clarity, strength, and direction. Together, we’ll explore how to shift from relying on external validation, which can leave you feeling dependent on others’ approval, to building an inner foundation that fosters resilience and a stronger sense of self.

With 15 years of clinical experience, Greer integrates EMDR (Certified) and IFS Level 1 & 2 training to support clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.
You’ve likely already tried to figure things out—but something still isn’t shifting. I help clients move beyond understanding into real, lasting change using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we work with the parts of you that hold anxiety, past experiences, and patterns that don’t shift, so you can feel more grounded, clear, and in control. I offer both weekly therapy and, when appropriate, intensive sessions for those looking to move through things more quickly. Clients also receive reflective session summaries to support integration between sessions.

When people experience life stressors or trauma, it is not uncommon to stumble, become immobilized, or even unravel.
I provide a welcoming and safe atmosphere; not only for veterans of counselling, but also for those who might not typically reach out to a counsellor. You are unique, and I will provide support individualized to who you are, and where you want to go. I currently offer appointments via tele-health ( telephone or secure video-call) and in-person.

I serve clients with multicultural family/work issues, mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, addictions, PTSD, OCD, social phobias), medical professionals’ trauma responses and self care (first responders, hospital staff, social workers), also explorations of one’s sexuality (bdsm, kink).
My clients often describe the experience of “feeling stuck or trapped” when their inner resources become either depleted or no longer effectively assist them with moving forward in life. If this sounds familiar, I invite you to a shared relational learning experience that is uniquely tailored to your inner journey of self-exploration and provides you with important tools to re-discover yourself. Resilience and hope are results of serious, repeated efforts to overcome life’s challenges. I am here to work through them with you, every step of the way…within a client-centred, non-judgemental, anti-oppressive, and sex positive framework.

My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and relational.
I work with individuals and couples navigating life’s more challenging and overwhelming seasons—whether external stress, major life transitions, or feeling stuck or at a crossroads. As a mother myself, I understand how transformative and at times overwhelming the transition into parenthood can be, which has deepened my passion for supporting clients in the perinatal period with empathy and care. I also support couples who feel disconnected or stuck in patterns, helping them strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

People see you as the one who has it all together, but deep down you have feelings of shame and thoughts like "I'm not good enough". You're tired, over-worked, overwhelmed and anxious much of the time. The way you are relating to yourself is likely connected to your first attachment relationships. These not so conscious strategies became a way to for you to feel safe. This armour of protection was adaptive at one time, but is no longer serving you, it is taking a toll on your emotional health. I'd like to help you slowly remove the armour and discover your authentic self is more than enough.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
